You need to do 'Starless' by King Crimson. Based on other reactions you've done, you'd love it.

Great redo, can't beat original vocals of Greg Lake. (ELP)

As amazing as this is, this is not King Crimson. John Wetton on bass and vocals. The inclusion of Steve Hackett on guitar and Chester Thompson on drums signals some special show with Genesis. Still awesome. Great reaction.

No Robert Fripp, no King Crimson. He's the only static member since '68. This is very damn good though.

Hidden among the players is none other than Ian McDonald, who wrote the song. Seems legit enough to me.

As long as he is getting a piece of the action, Mr. Fripp should welcome all such excellent adventures. This played on the radio in Charlotte a few times, and it was always as if Beethoven had suddenly come in and had taken over. If Sgt. Pepper was the seed of progressive music, this song and album was the sprout that gave direction to creation and competence.

Old King Crimson fan here. I never thought I would ever say this. But this version is indeed slightly better than the original. But the original remains the original.

It's good but as others have said it is not King Crimson, it is a Steve Hackett project, if it was King Crimson live they usually have 2 drummers and recently the have 3 on stage and if course it would be Robert Fripp on guitar, still an impressive version though.

In 1969 Robert Fripp, Ian MacDonald, Greg Lake and Michael Giles, known collectively as King Crimson, invented prog rock. They only had as much studio equipment and technical support as there was available in 1960s. Some ten yes later Ian McDonalds (flute) is performing with a fantastic group of musicians with unique experience of playing top notch prog music. John Wetton is an ex-Crimson singer who fronted the band during their top years. Steve Hackett (ex-Genesis) has probably more understanding of King Crimson style than any other guitar player in the universe (save for Adrian Belew and Jakko Jakszyk who have played in King Crimson), same can be said about Chester Thompson on drums. These were simply the best musicians to play that song, seasoned and inspired.

Hi Josh! This is the most incredible piece of music! The flute section is mystic and beautiful. Love John Wetton on vocals. RIP.

When I first heard this song, which was somehow played on Charlotte radio circa '69, I knew it was a keeper, and that the band was of a higher caliber than those that had mostly populated the radio, then and especially now. Fripp was a student of Gurdjieff, whose birthday was the same as that of King Crimson, and yours truly. Gurdjieff once talked about how one's level of understanding depends on one's level of being-development. King Crimson is the product of developed beings, and is not accessible to all. You must've pre-evolved your being, as you seem to deeply resonate with the music. Do you know the music of Lisa Gerrard or David Hykes? Also among the remarkable.

Well it is Ian McDonald on mellotron and flute, the only original member of King Crimson here. John Wetton's voice is almost as good as Greg Lake's. And even as good as Chester Thompson is on drums, it's not as good as what Michael Giles did on the original recording. With that being said, it's still a pretty damn good live version.

This is awesome but it is not King Crimson. Ian McDonald is present but Robert Fripp isn't even there. It's Steve Hackett on guitar and the GREAT Chester Thompson on drums. Someone said it was some Steve Hackett project, but I don't know for sure. Steve Hackett and Friends perhaps?

No way is John's vocals better than Greg Lake's. The drums are not anywhere near as good as Michael Giles playing. Only a King Crimson novice would say so. However this version is not bad, I don't care for the changes in the flute either.

@@ircreg8639 name recognition means zilch when it comes to skill. I can ask a lot of drummers who CT is, and they'd say, Chester Thompson....who? Your reply makes no sense.
