'Jungle' is a perfect example of how many (most), of ELO's deep cuts are as good as (and often better than), ELO's hits were. There is so much going on in the song 'Jungle', and the way Jeff Lynne incorporates so many unique sounds and brings them all together in "Joyful Harmony", is truly where Jeff Lynne lives up to the 'Genius' moniker he is so often given. I never thought I would see a reaction video for the song 'Jungle', but if anyone was going to do it, and do it justice, I knew it would be you Josh. Glad you are back, and keep up the great work.

I've found that I had to listen to most ELO songs several times, or even many times to catch all the subtle little things in the music and lyrics.

So great to see you again Josh! Elo is my favorite! This song blows me away. So much going on. Jeff Lynne does his Tarzan impression! It's just marvelously put together! Thanks for doing another reaction to this musically brilliant band!👍

I love this track so much! In 1977 this was so forward looking. I would play it over and over with my clunky Koss headphones on. Glad to see you are discovering all the magic of ELO.

I was searching for a " first timer" For this song! Iwas 15 my Mom was ( I never knew her age!) But she loved ELO as I did. I am 61 now and still love this band! My only regret was never seeing them live. Pink Floyd, 2x, Stones 1 time, Kinks 3x.

It’s a very fun song. Without getting too deep, I’ve always viewed this song and The Whale (also on Out of the Blue) in support of wildlife and the planet. “Wondrous is our great blue ship that sails around the mighty sun, and joy to everyone that rides along!”

Yay!!!! Josh is back and he's doing Jungle!!!!! In my opinion, it was a dream, because at the very end his alarm clock went off. "Wonderous is our great blue ship that sails around the mighty sun, and joy to everyone that rides along"!!!

Hey there my young brother and friend in great music appreciation! So glad you're back Josh! I appreciate you keeping it about the music! A really excellent reaction, too. Your smile says it all about how much ELO gives you joy! I don't recall, (as I am old now) if you reacted to "All Over the World". It's on one of their greatest hits compilations, but I think it's extra inspiring to watch a KZbin " Flashmob" clip. You see all people of every age just overjoyed hearing and dancing to it. I think you'll enjoy it my friend. I wish you happiness, joy and shalom! Thanks for blessing me with your reactions!

Welcome back! I’ve always interpreted song as an explorer having an encounter with singing jungle animals from space flying around in a spaceship. They are spreading joy throughout the galaxy, and the lyrics ask the explorer to join the group - that simple, and that fun. It also might be a interpreted as a dream because of the ending alarm clock. It’s the closest “kid’s song” ELO recorded similar to The Beatles’ “Yellow Submarine” and “Octopus’s Garden.” It needs to be pointed out the gibberish chorus lyrics “Chooka-chooka, hoo la ley; Looka-looka, koo la ley” came decades before “Hakuna Matata.” ;) I suggest your next ELO reaction should be “Eldorado Overture” and “Can’t Get It Out Of My Head” listened together. Though “Can’t Get…” was a huge hit, they are connected as the album’s first two tracks and should be listened to as one.

I was standin' in the jungle, I was feeling alright I was wanderin' in the darkness in the middle of the night The moon began to shine, I saw a clearing ahead But what's that goin' on? I think I'm out of my head A hundred animals were gathered 'round this night And they were singin' out a lovely song under the pale moonlight I stood and stared for quite a while Then a lion sang to me and smiled "Come join us if you so desire" They sang (Chooka-chooka, hoo la ley) That's what they sang (Looka-looka, koo la ley) And then turned away (Chooka-chooka, hoo la ley) That's what they sang (Looka-looka, koo la ley) I said, "Now, please, explain the meaning of this song you sing" ("Wondrous is our great Blue Ship That sails around the mighty Sun And joy to everyone that rides along") Oh, they sang (Chooka-chooka, hoo la ley) That's what they sang (Looka-looka, koo la ley) Oh, that's nice And they danced Pretty soon I knew the tune And we sat and sang under the moon And the jungle rang in joyful harmony They sang (Chooka-chooka, hoo la ley) That's what they sang (Looka-looka, koo la ley) And then turned away (Chooka-chooka, hoo la ley) That's what they sang (Looka-looka, koo la ley) Wondrous is our great Blue Ship That sails around the mighty Sun Joy to everyone that rides along It’s a wonderful, positive dream Josh, you called it. ✨✨✨

I didn't expect anyone to take on a reaction to Jungle. I love the song. It is so different from other ELO tracks on OOTB, but still has the unmistakable sound of ELO running through it. There are so many tracks that were never released as singles that a worth a listen. It is good to see you come away from the well trodden hits and finding so e of those hidden gems that were forever album tracks. Next I suggest Steppin Out or 21st Century Man.
