George, I think this video must have been produced before you made your other 2-part leaf blowing vids. All of them are quite good. I had to cough and sneeze a bit after watching this vid (smile). You could tell it was dry weather. Thumbs up with your great ideas. Nice work.

It was very Dusty! We are working on the yard on that side so most of the grass is dead! Thats my least favorite part hahahaha!

Where are you pushing the leaves to?? a driveway? You're an expert driving that mower! I can tell that is your go-to toy.

+Charlene Kamsch I'm trying to get a good size compost pile going in the back yard. It's amazing how much the leaves crush down to after only a year!?

George, that rig kicks ass! Props to the drivers skills ;) I'm curious what the blower HP/CC is to move so many so far? I know it's hack but was wondering if I could achieve decent results on the cheap with my rider and duel blowers. My Echo hand held with my Husqvana backpack on a custom (low) mount attached on the rear hitch I added to tow a little trailer. Given your obvious experience and mastery could it be done successfully? If so, any tips on blower height from ground and/or horizontal angle of blower tubes? Thanks

+im1cher I would think you can! The blower is a little wonder brand and it's 10 hp. Keep the output nice and low. Keep in mind, I am in the process of changing my set up this year because I kept hitting the blower on the ground and breaking my mount! The blower is mounted higher with a hose that runs to the ground and a flapper valve that switches which side of the mower the air blows out of. I'm not done yet though and the leaves are already falling!! If you do try this out I would love to see a quick video! I really wanted to try this with a lawn tractor! 😀 I'm going to post more videos of this set up this winter when I get time to edit the footage. This really cut down on my time to clear the yard, went from 3 hours to about 1!

+im1cher as far as angles, I always had better luck when blowing from different angles. So a leaf gets stuck in the grass blowing from one way, if you change the direction you are blowing at the leaf, it usually gets it out. Even of a blower is smaller, you should be able to do the same thing, when the pile of leaves gets thicker and the blower stops moving the leaves, run the leaf plow through the pile to get the bulk/weight of the leaves out of the way. Then start blowing again, I have my mower blades on as well, the blades pick up the little stragglers left behind and also cuts the grass while you are at it! A vacuum bagging trailer works awesome too, I just don't have the set up for that quite yet, maybe in a few years. Plus I kind of want to get this deal worked out too

+im1cher oh, one more thing, you see me change the angle of that little flapper on the blower? That thing is amazing! Angling that flapper downwards helps to get under the leaves and cleans better angling it upwards helps to move a larger bulk of leaves but doesn't do as good of a job cleaning.

+im1cher if you are interested in a push blower, I use searchtempest.com it searches a bunch of junk all at once, but mostly it searches multiple areas of Craigslist all at once so you don't have to search by area 8 different times to look all around you! newyork.craigslist.org/fct/grd/d/giant-vac-5hp-push-blower/6345891800.html I bet you could find something on the cheap. Couldn't find d anything super cheap, but I didn't look very hard! Hahah the Billy goat brand has a nozzle that changes direction with a hand lever kind of thing, I used one a long time ago and I loved it! I never mustered up the urge to pay full price for one of them though! Mucho $$$$$

Thanks for all the great tips, George! I screen printed your reply to check them out. I noticed the flapper on your left. Looks like you're using the mower shoot opening on your right, for now. 10 HP is pretty powerful blasting. I've subscribed so I'll see your upgrades. Like you I looked into the Billy Goat a few years ago. Even used they bring big $$$! The only ones that are reasonable are not self propelled. Who could push those monsters all day?! Like a training tool for the WWE! Lol... Would also love to be able to suck them into a trailer or ideally the back of my truck for easy removal. Work smarter, not harder, right?! If I manage to get time to build it this season I'll surely share. It might be a winter project for spring oak leaves as the landscapers push is on, not leaving much time for anything. Thanks again for your quick and info filled reply! Happy leaf plowing!!! :)
