Hi Simon! Just to say a HUGE thanks for all your videos. I've become totally addicted to your videos. I'd also to love to know more about your theatre/choreography work and how you mix that with being a KZbin creator. I trained as a professional classical singer (at the RNCM) and did that for many years, but I found it hard to juggle that and my job as a creator and a coach. You clearly get super excited by creating all these systems, and I get like that too. I am just trying to avoid spending so much time with creating the systems and actually focus on being productive! But you've been such a big help. Thanks!

Thanks Ian - great to read this! I may make some vids here and there about my theatre work - but also enjoying keeping the worlds separate at the moment. Welcome to the channel! Great to have you in the BC community!

@@BetterCreating thanks, it is great to be here. Yes, I totally get that. It is important to stay focused on the main topic. I try and do the same thing, as my audience isn't going to be interested in my singing background. But I can bring my experience in that world into what I create in my content. Maybe you can share some of your other work on your blog or on social. Not everyone would be interested, but I am. I'd love to know more about how you segment those different areas of your life. For me, my jobs and interests tend to roll into each other!

Great review, thank you. I'm still "umming and arring" between the 14 and the 16 - the 14 has so many more pro's RE portability but there is no denying the 16 is an incredible work machine when you sit down with it. I'm currently rocking a 15" Retina MBP and that sometimes is a bit big when trying to take out and about

Im Using 16" 24core GPU, 1TB SSD, 32GB Unified Ram. As a freelance designer, I spend most of my time working in different places, When i work at coffee shops the large screen really helps and the battery life is awesome. The only con for me is the wieght but im getting used to it.
@legendjxli12662 жыл бұрын
@@ChristopherBong Is the 24 Core enough? And also is 32GB enough? I will go to Uni for Graphics Design and they told me i should get 16 but better 32GB of RAM and 512GB better 1TB of SSD. I will edit 4k Videos as a Sidehustle so it could be that in the background the Video is exporting while i work on some designer things in Illustrator or maybe even do some 3D Work, Coding some Webapplications or create a Game/ design Characters for Games. Should i go with the 32Core M1 Max instead the 24 Core and should i get 64GB of RAM instead of 32GB RAM due to working with 6+ Applications open at the same time… Would be nice if u could help me :)
@Yzyenthusiast2 жыл бұрын
@@legendjxli1266 the 24 core is more than enough lol might be a little too powerful for right now but who knows how much more complex your task will be in the future. Also 32GB of ram is fine, if you have extra to splurge, splurge on the storage instead

Hi, is the 16" m1 pro chip better then the 14" m1 max chip 10core/24core ?
@legendjxli12662 жыл бұрын
@@pimvijgeboom8950 From watching hundreds of Reviews, I don't think so. If you don't mind the smaller screen its a good choice. I'm using the 14" MBP and it works fine. Even when cutting in FCP or doing other stuff I never heard any fan noice. Maybe the 14" MBP with M1 Max could make some fan noice if pushed heavy. But that would only be the case if pushed really really heavy or when doing exports. It will maybe make some noice but finish very quickly. After purchasing I sometimes think it would be better to go with the M1 Max due to its double video encoders but besides that im more than happy with my 14" MBP with M1 Pro and 16 GB RAM :)

I've been binging your channel these last few hours and you definitely have a new sub in me! Going to write a long comment so please bear with me lol In regards to THIS video, I wish I watched it earlier because I just recently bought a new M2 MacBook Pro 14-inch a few days ago (waiting for it in the mail at the moment). Here are the configurations on it: M2 Pro MacBook Pro (14-inch) with 10‑core CPU, 16‑core GPU, 16‑core Neural Engine 32GB unified memory 1TB SSD storage I know it's the base model M2 Pro but I think it should be enough for what I do. I'm slowly trying to start a freelance business doing videography, photography, video editing, motion graphics & I dabble in music production as a hobby. I also have a SONY a7IV camera I bought that I'm still learning how to use & I want to buy an iPhone 14 Pro Max to use as a B camera and later buy a Mac Studio (M1 or M2 Max or Ultra) with double the specs of my M2 MacBook Pro 14-inch I'm waiting for. The reason for my purchase is that I'm upgrading from 2 computers (1 laptop & 1 desktop) Here are the specs for BOTH computers I'm upgrading from: MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012) with 2.5 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 1TB SSD & Mac Mini (2018) with 3.2 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 1TB SSD *paired with a Razer Core X Aluminum External GPU Enclosure holding an AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 I'm hoping this new laptop can help me optimize the most out of the applications I use the most which are: Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, & FL Studios (I want to use & learn Cinema 4D, Lightroom & DaVinci Resolve in the future)

Hummm, if you don’t do too many power user tasks a MacBook Air might be better for portability and battery life. Maybe the M2 version is a good bet for you. If you want a pro - the base model would be fine - I always vote more storage by 1tb above what you think you can get away with. The call is yours!
@bernios34462 жыл бұрын
@Alamjeet Singh - Same here: at home I can connect my Apple Studio Display, But when carrying it size and weight really matters and I found the 16 inch too heavy and too large. As for performance, the base M1pro shop is all I need. Even the M1 it’s not slow, it just lacks ports: no card reader and the display is a bit dimmer. But as video editing is not something I do for a living, I chose portability over sheer performance.

Thanks for the messages. Humm, tricky - I wondering you would be better off with a MacBook Air if it’s not too serious video editing. I found the iPad great - but definitely Final Cut Pro on a good Mac is better in the long run. All this said - if you will use an iPad for more like note taking / drawing etc - it’s great!

"This decision alone (16" or 14") was a nightmare to make" - Oh I can very well sing that song as well. Took me ages, hours of KZbin- Videos to watch and even in the Mac Store spent touching, holding, picking up all the sizes many many times. Made me finally cancel my 16" order :-) What I don't really understand why so many are concerned with render times. You cannot edit 12h non stop, so rendering is a good moment for a break or a coffee. 15min, 30min - who cares?
@BetterCreating2 жыл бұрын
Hah I feel you. For me: it’s really helpful almost every week for rendering and proofing and then fixing quickly on my deadline. It’s also the speed of the max chip for handling editing is great.
