Nicely done all around! Veronica did a particularly good job of holding the scene and being in the moment, keeping it alive as if in continual contemplation that never went flat. It reminds me of a Richard Feynman quote: "Nature's imagination is so much greater than man's; she's never going to let us relax." There is no such thing as even better than the real thing. That's why it's the real thing. You can't improve it with special effects. Even trying just substitutes mere glamour for true inspiration. Thanks for this movie. It reminds me of "We can remember it for you wholesale" by Philip K Dick, but in reverse as it should be. This is still a beautiful world, if we can only learn to get out of its way and bring out the best of both ourselves and our environments.

Great story, and hopeful as we speed into the Metaverse, perhaps one day in the future young people will yearn for the reality that was lost.

Very nice, solid message conveyed without any dialog. I am perplexed about the bar code. It appears in both AugR and reality but not always in reality.
@zachboonefilms45616 жыл бұрын
Kat I M Glad you liked the film and thanks for the question! The barcode appears when there is a connection to the Betterlife chip. For example, it disappears when the chip gets the virus, reappears when the chip is repaired and then disappears once more when she breaks the chip.
@katim26446 жыл бұрын
That totally makes sense. My confusion was that the ear piece was what was being repaired. If the chip in her head needed to be debugged, what role does the ear piece play? I saw that when she was told her chip was ready for reactivation it came up without the ear piece. Is the chip in her head or in the ear piece? I really loved the movie, you did amazing work. It was just something I noticed. Had your work not been so good, I wouldn't have even bothered to ask.

Zach Boone, nice job. Great scenery, interesting message, great dialogue-less approach. I have known people who refused to learn how to send and receive text messages because they didn't want to be "glued" to their phone. I have met others, as perhaps some of you have, whose phone has become all things to them (and it's fun to try and have conversations with them, isn't it? OMG!). I'm surprised you didn't get more comments either way. Thank you for an interesting change of pace!

The concept of being "glued" to their phone reminded me of a day a few years ago when my wife and I went on a 2+1/2 hour coastal boat trip here in southern England. A family with several children were also on the boat near us, and the oldest one of the children, a boy of probably early to mid teens was looking at his phone when the trip began, and he never once lifted his head the whole time. Everyone was in wonder at the beauty of the sea and the cliffs around us, but at the end of the trip we heard the boy announce to his parents, "F*** that was so boring." He was surrounded by so much, but saw nothing but his phone.

@@63rdwho I have had so many similar experiences in the years since cell phones have become ubiquitous. Of course, distracted driving is the most blatant example, that a text message is more important than paying attention as you hurtle down a crowded highway at 60mph. We grow more and more detached from the reality of our own experiences. Life is not passing us by. We are passing life by.

A little off topic, but I ran cross country in high school and college and the way the actress ran seemed like the way a serious runner does. Sure enough, she runs cross country competitively.

Very nicely done and although the focus was necessarily on the young-lady to me this story was more about the World and the fact that despite our every effort to bulldoze, burn and poison the planet and knowing the many ways we attempt to overpower and control nature the World is always ready to receive us back and to nurture us and to love us even when we may not deserve it.

I would have liked to have been in this short film during the first 53 seconds of it as the guy asking Her if She's o.k.. Well I know that there was no one in the film that did that so it would have been My idea.
