Would you ever use this for different applications besides just mastering?
@OliverShillitoАй бұрын
Oh absolutely. I could see this being used on vocals and even drums. Anywhere where a limiter or clipper could be used. It sounds great too!

I thought Darth Limiter was discontinued in favor the the MkII?
@OliverShillito2 ай бұрын
It wasn’t discontinued as much as I believe it was a limited run and they only made 200 of them, or something like that! I’ve not had chance to get my hands on the 2.0 though but one would imagine it’s fairly similar in its operation and sound.

is this not just a plug in in disguise ?
@OliverShillito2 ай бұрын
Not at all from what I can tell. All the plugin does is control the unit and does not audio processing at all. The unit can be fully used without the plugin and weighs enough that I can confidently say contains all types of analogue goodness haha

Why crush the bejeezus out of tracks when online music players normalize loudness anyway? Serious Q. Guess the q is more for your client.
@OliverShillito2 ай бұрын
These songs will mostly be used in TV and movie stuff. I’m not sure how it works in that arena but hey who am I to judge. The client is always right etc

My guess is the answer would be that even when turned down relatively. It’ll still have the sound of being balls to the wall with next to no dynamic range and that is perhaps the sound they want. That would be my guess

Why would u review and demo this for us using such a terrible song as an example instead of something smoother so that we can understand it better?
