Been thinking about a ring saw but wasn't sure how much I would use it. I just did a piece that I really could have used it to get better detail. I will go back and check out the older video. Thanks.

A ring saw is a luxury that you don't NEED but you'll be glad to have one if you do.

I too have hard/calcium water, I've found putting a small cap full of apple cider vinegar in every new pan fill and I've never had any limescale buildup in/on my saw. It's 3 years old to date, but my light stopped working within a few months new... A small dab of Vaseline keeps my sharpie lines from washing off while cutting. Love your instructions. Hope you have a great day, Thanks!

Thanks, adding vinegar to the water sounds like a great idea! Those mirrored glass pieces (which I'm still cutting) hold the sharpie line with no additional help but I'll try the vaseline idea for future cuts!

Am interested why can I purchase the whole ring saw machine?.
@GommStainedGlass3 жыл бұрын
if you do a google search for taurus 3 ring saw, you should be able to find several sources. This is a tool of last resort. You don't need to buy one until you have all the other tools and you've had a lot of practice.

So glad to see what to do when it stops like that. Haven’t had that happen yet but now I’m prepared.

It's rare, I was cutting sideways and just go too aggressive.

if you pore a little skin-so-soft or water based lubricant in with your water, the glass and stone dust will be much easier to clean off the plastic. Or you can spray down the plastic with silicone spray before you start using it.

That would work, we'll give it a try!

I clean mine every time I use it. But thanks for the info.

How long do the ring saw blades last for you?
@GommStainedGlass3 жыл бұрын
It varies, sometimes they last a long time and then occasionally they break quickly. They best trick for getting them to last is to manually turn the ring several inches if it's been sitting for a day or more. This helps loosen up the belt.

I had purchased a gryphon saw, the purple one. I soo wish I had gotten the Taurus Ring Saw.

I thought the gryphon saw looked pretty good, how well does it work?
@karendeville20214 жыл бұрын
@@GommStainedGlass Much slower than I expected. I rarely use it and tend to avoid it. I learned a lot from your video and the time you took to cut your pieces. Thank you for sharing your wisdom 💜.

I use white vinegar and baking soda,then let it sit after it stops foaming.

Yep, it works, now if those elves would clean up for me while I sleep........😴😴😴
