This sounds absolutely stupid, but you saved my hobby-life. I have severe carpal tunnel in my hands, and have not been able to cut my stained glass for years. We're talking multiple surgeries and tons of therapy for it. My hands shake and I can't get a good grip on my cutters anymore. Someone recommended this ring saw, and this tutorial went through absolutely everything!!! Thank you so much! I can finally start cutting again. I really appreciate it. I've been looking for something like this and a tutorial for it for like 2 decades. I'm so happy I found this video.

This is great! Now I'm even more excited about my new saw and was entertained in the process! Thanks for making a potentially dry subject fun to watch.

This is one of the most informative, thorough and entertaining information-training videos I've ever viewed. When I started watching, I was only interested in what a ring saw is/does. After watching, I want to own one. Absolutely excellent presentation of this product and its accessories. NICELY DONE!!!

I have had this saw for over 6 years, love it for cutting intricate shapes. I am going over it for maintenance and replacing some pieces that are showing ware. I watched this entire video and had NO IDEA all the “other features “ it could do! Wow! Beveled edges, circles, thin cuts on murrini... too many to name. If you are on the fence about buying this, don’t be, it’s well worth the price and a great addition to my fused glass shop.

Our Glass and Mosaics Group, here in New Zealand purchased the Taurus Saw 3 approximately three years ago following the recommendation of a person who had one. Absolutely no regrets once we put the student/mega blade on. As you may imagine we have all levels of expertise and are all still learning how to get the best out of this machine. The instruction video - superb and witty!

It’s important to note that you have to krazy glue your orange grommets if you have the black plastic inserts for them or you’re never going to be able to use the saw as they will slide out of place and break blade after blade after blade….

Hi! What’s your favorite rubber cement to use??? Can the paper be easily removed after cementing? Thanks!
@cathye.28555 жыл бұрын
Should the foot be loosened for regular (non-handheld) use so that it self-adjusts to the thickness of the glass? My foot came screwed on really tight. Also: Why did Gemini do away with the water level markings on the newer tubs? Mine didn't come with any and once I put the water in to match 1/2-way up the lowest blue wheel, I'll have to use a permanent marker to make my own water level indicator on the tub.

Question. The current grommets don't seem to have a rounded & flat side (just got a new blade & grommets), they are flat on both sides. So guessing flat side can ve up or down. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.

QUESTION: I bought the Taurus Ring Saw 2 months ago. I already have to change the blade that came with it. Is this normal? I thought I was letting the blade do the work. Am I pushing the glass in too hard? I thought the blades would last longer. Thank you.

A bit of a late reply, but yes it can. Just be sure to change the water very frequently as slate particles build up quickly.

This is a very vital video to run my machine, even though his humor is great, a more to the point or “simplistic” video would be helpful. I view this video many times a week and have to skip around to find the informative pieces I need. I would love to create a video for you that is more “to the point” if you would like to use me as the instructor/model.

Is this saw appropriate to use to cut pizza smalti?
@maryshevlin76675 жыл бұрын
So, after watching this video, I thought it was simple to change my broken blade. I followed it to a tee. However, upon first use, one of my red grommets popped off. The video says put one forward and one backwards. My flange is black plastic, not shiny metal like this one. It seems, there is nothing to hold the red grommet in place on the flange!! So, I flipped it around, so both are facing the same direction and it now works. There is also not a flat vs rounded side to the red grommet - both sides are flat. In conclusion, I bought my saw in 2013, but the grommets were bought in 2016. So, did I get old parts, newer parts, I don't know - but they don't match this 2015 video.
@cathye.28555 жыл бұрын
I think it's a good idea to take photos of the inner workings with a cell phone before dismantling it to replace parts. That way, you can reference the photo to know what it looked like before.

I changed the gromets and was about to replace the blade but inspected the belt and his worn down to the Kevlar/copper this suggests that is why the blade snapped as it must have slipped in the belt! suggesting that this machine is not industrial enough for our moderate use, but more of a toy or that the parts are made of substandard material...be warned and be careful
@samlucas58175 жыл бұрын
Hi this is great video explanation BUT! we have only been using the ringsaw since January and today the blade snapped huting my colleague, so I changed the gromets and was about to change the blade but notice the Kevlar/copper are already showing through...I am thinking that this machine is not industrial enough for proper use but more of a toy, perhaps with parts not as good as they may been in the past. 3 moths of moderate use use and the parts have disintegrated
