As I watched these clips with Betty telling her story to Mike Douglas and the world I just want to hold her in my arms. Sweet sorrow is what I feel.

She looks so good for her age and what she’s been through. I guess she was truly happy after she overcame the fall.

If you have never had it all, you never miss it, but when you have had it all like Betty and you lose it , it's devastating to everyone. Like better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all.

My parents saw Betty in a supper club in the Russian River area of California in the seventies: my mom said "Thank-you, Betty for all you gave us" - they had a photo taken and at 16, I got her autograph which said "To Scott: All my love, Betty Hutton" = when my parents got back home, because my mom said "he loves the classic movie stars like you". Still have it.

I saw Betty Hutton in that tiny supper club... I think it was only 'one night' ..singing in the tiny bar area of the restaurant...

Mike asked her if they did her life story, who would she want to play her. Bernadette Peters she said. After doing some research,I found out that Betty Did an off broadway show of Gypsy in the '60s I believe it was. Bernadette Peters was a teen and played the daughter. I really couldn't find much about it other than it took place somewhere. Couldn't find any reviews, nothing. Anyone got anything? She had a rough life but was so entertaining on screen.

She is so right at 5:35. A mother HAS to be in the home. And a working Mother is too exhausted to properly raise children. It's hard on the Mother and the children are at a loss. This is the biggest part of our society being in poor shape, and as well extends to a number of aspects as a country and individuals both affected and effected in negative ways. It's an important subject that's worthy for all to be aware of.

Betty's father was Percy Thornburg, he worked on the railroad, and left the family when Betty was very young and shot himself in 1937.

I did a deep dive on her a few years ago and short answer - during her working years in movies she was not nice to work with and kept herself and her family miserable. What she never says in these later filmed interviews is what role her behavior played in her downfall in Hollywood.

If Lindsay Lohan keeps going the way she is I bet she could play Betty in about another 6 months.

Who could play Betty Hutton? Besides Betty? I dunno.

4:00 Betty in denial here. The loss of her wealth and servants did not drive her kids away.
