Betty demonstrates how to make Russian Cheese Spread on Pumpernickel Bread. This is a tasty cream cheese spread with olives and walnuts, plus flavorful seasonings--terrific for summer!
Russian Cheese Spread on Pumpernickel Bread
8-ounce package cream cheese, softened (You may use Neufchatel cheese.)
¼ cup ketchup
½ teaspoon Tabasco sauce
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
¼ cup chopped stuffed green olives
¼ cup chopped English walnuts
sliced pumpernickel bread, as needed
In a medium-sized bowl, mix together cream cheese, ketchup, Tabasco sauce, Worcestershire sauce, olives, and walnuts. Cover with plastic wrap and chill until serving time. When ready to serve, spread Russian Cheese Spread generously on a slice of pumpernickel bread and top it with a second slice of pumpernickel bread. Slice diagonally, if desired. Enjoy! --Betty ♥♥♥
