Here's another anecdote just to show how deep Betty's respect and love was for show business: In 1954, she was criticized for featuring Arthur Duncan, an up-and-coming black tap dancer, on the Betty White Show. Audiences complained of seeing an African-American man on their TV sets, and even her network threatened to cancel the Betty White Show if she did that again. her response? "I'm sorry, but he stays! Deal with it!". Even after her network went through and axed her own show, she continued to feature Arthur on her shows. In fact, in 2017, Arthur credited Betty for jump-starting his own television career, and he was grateful to Betty for standing up to what's right and maintaining her integrity. No matter how deep her sacrifices were, she never regretted it for a second. Now that is a true icon right there.
@teenamaree56603 жыл бұрын
I really appreciate hearing that...What a memorable tribute to who she was...thank you. People get angry with me for stating facts. But I was never focused on Betty White's career, one way or the other. I didn't know her the way her fans did. For that reason, it's easy for me to state acts...especially concerning the fact that no human being becomes an angel when they die. Those who loved Miss White are comforted to believe that she's now got wings. But that's just not scriptural...I'm all about facts in accordance with the Word. I know her fans are hurting over her passing. But she lived a very long time. We all have to go...This place isn't our permanent home. We have to prepare for our afterlife. I really hope that, at some point, Betty prepared for hers. But it bothered me to hear her say that what happens when we die is a secret. God loves us too much for that to be true. When someone dies...it's over for them. So I'm more concerned about those who are still living. You still have choices to make when you're still here. Be more concerned about where you're going when you die...rather than spending a lot of time grieving over somebody who's already gone on to their eternity. If Betty White could speak beyond her grave, she'd likely say something along those lines to those who love her and grieve her passing. Be more concerned about yourself!!

Simplest of facts. Why is it any of someone else's business who they sleep with in their bedroom? What impact who they marry has on your life?
@CaptainPikeachu4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately some people desire control and selfishness, and they get it by bossing other people around. I’ll never understand it either. Who someone else chooses to sleep with or marry isn’t my business so why care.

Might wanna check into the story of Frank Turek and how he got fired from his HR position at a huge corporation... Bank of America, I think. His is only one of millions of similar stories. Christians in America have said live and let live. We are now persecuted beyond belief for believing in God's view of marriage, as outlined in His Holy Bible.

@@JeanmarieRod It's nice to see that Christians aren't putting down their centuries long tradition of playing victims when they deliberately meddle in the affairs of others who simply want to live. You can hold your belief in God's view of marriage, which I won't even go into how debatable that is, but you do not get to force your beliefs on other people. Grow up and be more like Jesus
@JeanmarieRod3 жыл бұрын
@@TheFrostLeviathan The only side forcing beliefs in 2021 United States is the lgbtq pushers. PLAYNG victims? I suppose Jesus, His disciples and other believing Christians throughout the last 2000 years were just playing when they were tortured and murdered.

Robbie Parker We’re people Robbie. Not some insidious cabal intent on spreading sin. We’re people. People who just want the same rights as our fellow citizens. All I want is the right to marry my wonderful boyfriend, and build a life with him without living as a second class citizen, without harassment. That’s it. Marriage as an institution is not solely in the custody of Christians. It’s one far older and widespread. You do not support Jesus and his message of love. You’re anything but Christ like. You do not get to perform judgement in this life on others in the place of God. That’s sacrilegious.

Betty White is a great woman! I have a lot of respect for her! The world will be a sadder place when she is gone! I'm sure she will still be going strong for another while! She at least needs to make it to 100!

I loved Bea Arthur, but it is said that she had such an ongoing feud with Betty White. Props to White for being classy and continuing to champion how much she loved and appreciated Bea despite it all.
@ferox9653 жыл бұрын
Wasn't so much a feud...they didn't do anything to hurt each other and remained professional. Bea's personality just didn't mesh well with Betty's personally...but onscreen is a different story.

Betty was everyones' wonderful grandma, or at least the one we wished we had. At long last she can join her dear husband and the other golden gals she loved so much. Such a shame she didn't quite make it to her 100th, but 99 years on this planet, doing what she did, what she loved, is more than most of us will ever get!
