When you almost 50 and go for an MRI Scan and you hear a song that was played just to cover the noise of the machine. And just fell in love with that voice. Just found out who it was. And having a blast listening to and watching her perform. What a woman.

Last night had time of my life I went to see concert of legendary real Queen of Soul of Bettye LaVette in Vancouver. What I can say about the outstanding performance went from her voice to my heart and my blood and I felt every second of the unbelievable emotional phenomenal voice. I had one hour and half of ne of my best time in my life . The Lord Bless You Bettye and Thanks! Bettye soon turn 70 year and I never seen so firm athletic build body of that age female. She is my inspiration!!!

I heard this song on the radio this morning WBGO 88.3 Felix Hernandez rythym review and it got me. I stood by the radio to hear the entire song to see who sings this version of it. Now I know it's Betty Lavette. She sings it better than Joe Simon... Joe Simon also made this song as well..... August 24th 2014

+Ethel Stevens Love I love WBGO...but have always preferred vocal jazz/blues. Felix Hernandez' show is terrific...he pulls out songs I almost forgot about...hadn't heard since I was a kid in the late 60s/early 70s. I saw Bettye and the 5 Blind Boys of Alabama on my 50th birthday...at TOWN HALL NYC. One of the best feeling shows I've ever seen...terrific bands for both groups...and something extra. The crowd was terrific.
