I would love a similar video on designing a courtyard / outdoor area to transition between two seperate buildings, on different levels, about 4 metre height difference between them and separated by 10-15 metres.

What would you think about a hybrid pergola for the home at 4:15? Let's say that you wanted to have the "deck" space usable and accessible to the second floor. Maybe have some openings in the deck to the ground level?

Definitely possible, however, a deck is likely to feel much heavier and taller (due to guardrails, etc.) than the pergola element One possibility is to render it similarly to the project at 7:14...
