Btbam: the best prog metal band EVER. To say your in for a wild ride is an understatement.

As a massive BTBAM fan, check out Protest The Hero if you have not. I'd spot them a $5 in a prog-off, but maybe cause I'm an OG hardcore punk fan and that's PTH's roots
@bradmitchell1507 Жыл бұрын
@@Pandameter13 hhh i wouldn't put protest up against btbam. they are top tier techy and pros though. the x factor is the protest vocalist belting it but the dynamic of elements tommy fkin rogers brings to the bam. but btbam is just goat IMO for prog. songs being a journey and long but not TOO long (dream theater) and actually just be a fkin good song and not just insanely technical but kinda campy (dream theater)
@AndreVanKammen Жыл бұрын
@@Pandameter13I've seen them both in a live set in Amsterdam, but the Protest the Hero's singer had a cold. I've listened more to them after that but Protest the Hero didn't stick as long as BTBAM because BTBAM has way more variations in their songs/albums. BTBAM albums are concept albums that fit together very wel and are like a journey to listen to,

I saw them live years ago when Colors first came out. The album is basically one continuous 60+minute song cut into 8 or so tracks. They came on stage and their singer proclaimed: "We are Between the Buried and Me, and this is Colors" They went on to play the entire album from beginning to end without stopping. Their drummer is an absolute UNIT.

*If I can only ever give one recommendation in my life it'd be to do a full album reaction to Colors.* I know you guys don't really do album reactions from what I've seen since watching you the last 3 years (car days hehe) but seriously consider doing it for this band because they are not only concept albums but flow as one long, long song. So if you only do 1 song it may feel weird structure wise and be very abrupt. Colors is basically a very, very important album in prog metal, and completely blew everyone away, and still does. I think they have evolved and changed a lot since then and my favorite album is actually either Parallax 2 or The Great Misdirect, but Colors is just... you'll see, hopefully :)
@rosswoodland64492 жыл бұрын
I don't think they are ready just yet LOL, I think they would explode hahahaha. Yeah I almost chose Ants Of The Sky, but this song breaths a lot more, gave them some time to collect themselves LOL.. Colors is amazing. I got to see them in Santa Cruz play the whole album front to back on their anniversary tour in 2017.

yeah i dont see them doing this. They never do it with other bands like MEshuggah and Opeth which are bands that dont even sound the same one song at a time as they do with a full album straight listen

Honestly, I really don't comment on any videos, but I can't wait to see you guys react to more BTBAM. Best prog metal band on earth, if not the most talented band ever. Every album is excellent, and is quite the journey. It's tough to just listen to a single song, because most albums are concepts and flow as one piece of music (hence the abrupt cut). REALLY looking forward to more reactions to them from you guys.

@@White2098 no they're literally listed as prog metal. Because there's so many influences they can't be categorized in anything besides prog, which is what prog is. A mish-mash of multiple genres. You can't stamp one genre into a band like this *except* for prog. Death metal is an influence, so is jazz, thrash, tech death, blues, psycadelic rock etc. So no matter what Wikipedia or whatever your source says, at the end of the day it's prog metal at heart and everything else is an addition.
