You're so cool, man! Because of you, I spent a lot of money this month on, new iPad Pro with Pen, Shapr3D and now I'm looking for the Fusion 360... Can you stop, please!!! :) I'm kidding, you're awesome mate! As a Manufacturing Director, this kit is exactly what I was looking for without knowing this. I'm doing a lot of stuff now, and I'm not the best in CAD design. Tbh honest, I'm faster now than the whole design office (4 people) for the small things, they can concentrate on the bigger projects instead. Cheers and you have a beer in London!!!

Could you do a video that goes through helping newbies decide what CNC to go with? I am currently weighing options ranging from 3 axis mills to the Makermade M2. So hard to know what a good starting point is and what a good machine is to turn into a successful business.
@BevelishCreations Жыл бұрын
If you want to build it into a business, I recommend going with a 3-axis machine. A 2-axis machine is only good for 2D carving, like very basic engraving. It won’t even be able to handle a V carve. You’ll outgrow it very fast
@wolf4091 Жыл бұрын
@@BevelishCreations with the Makermade m2, I think I saw some people doing some 3dimensional cutting as there is a little bit of z axis control, although no where near the depth of a pure 3 axis machine of course, but then you get the ability to work on pieces that are 4'x8', though I do not know how accurate, precise, or consistent this work will be.

This was a really interesting video I actually watched the entire thing. After all of that work I'm really surprised the amount of fusion treaty interaction that you had to go through. Why not just use fusion 3D to do the entire sculpting process? Is it just that it's more difficult? Time consuming? I'm learning shaper 3D right now and I love it but after watching the required interactions to make a model into a physical element I'm tempted more to simply suggest hand carving the piece out of wood. I'm actually a sculptor and I could have carved that piece twice as long in half of the amount of time. Of course that's easy to say with it just being a long piece of stock board. I'm sure there's many applications that you could never hand sculpt to the degree of accuracy that the computer can apply. But for something like that hand skills could be incredibly valuable. I am curious though what it would take to use shape or 3D directly to a 3D printer? Is that even possible? I'd like to use shaper 3D as a sculptural 3D printing tool. Am I completely crazy and thinking that I could do that? Am I going to have to commit to a fusion 3D professional license and their crappy service?
@BevelishCreations2 жыл бұрын
Shapr3D doesn’t have CAM capabilities. You can do the whole thing in Fusion 360 if you want. I did it before in another tutorial. But I like to design on my iPad so I’m not constrained at the computer, so I use Shapr3D 90% of the time

They model nearly the same. But Shapr3D is much more useful for me because it allows me to sit in the shop and make designs while measuring things in front of me. And i can walk all over the shop to do this. There’s 0 time wasted from turning on my iPad and opening the app. I don’t have to run back and forth between my project and the office. I can design while on a bus, at the airport, on a plane…basically anywhere without needing to carry a laptop.
