Beverley North Level Crossing

Thursday October 17 2024 at 12.36. The 10.57 Sheffield to Scarborough (13.43) train. My records showed that I filmed here in 2014 but I filmed the next crossing southwards twice instead. This therefore is new on this channel. In February 2018 during the morning rush hour someone died on this crossing. There were gates here until 1974, a Signal Box on the far right corner until 1985 and a pub behind that until around 2010. A line to York branched off just north of here from 1865 to 1959. The trackbed is now a footpath that runs for many miles past disused stations.

Nice video. Small correction: the line to York (via Market Weighton) closed in November 1965. Some dreamers want to re-open it.
