Woburn Sands Level Crossing

Saturday October 5 2024 at 11.14. The 10.47 Bedford to Bletchley (11.28) train. A difficult crossing to film on a busy Saturday morning with traffic everywhere and nowhere to stop. Came here in 2013 and filmed this • Woburn Sands Level Cro... The previous year the government announced electrification of this line. That hasn't happened. Over the last 2 years passenger numbers at this station have been around 27 - 34 per day compared with 65 a day in 2013. This line was part of the Oxford to Cambridge line which closed many years ago. Remarkably, passengers found it was quicker to get a train to London and get another from there rather than use the direct line. Woburn Sands sounds like it should be an attractive holiday resort.
