she seized an opportunity, it wasn't premeditated like when she flirted with Dylan while Brenda was in Paris, basically she didn't come to compete with Brenda, everyone would want to play the leading role, In her place you would have really refused to audition for the leading role, it's also up to Brenda to be a little more suspicious too.

Kelly didn’t want to audition, and Brenda convinced her. She tried to bail, and the director insisted on her trying. She assumed she wouldn’t get callback and didn’t even go look at the list. Just not seeing how Kelly is to blame for this.

😂Because we watched the episodes after that! Kelly admits to Donna that she's holding on to it partly because she was upset with Dylan for taking Brenda's side. Kelly also admits to Brenda that she never actually wanted the role. She only took it because every time something good happens to Brenda, a part of her feels left behind. I agree! Kelly walked out and he insisted she audition. Last time I checked, auditioning means you’re trying out against other people for one part. Brenda may have WANTED the role, but she wasn’t OWED the role. So entitled.

@@jonthomas8569the difference here is that Kelly is supposed to be Brenda’s best friend. She should have at least informed Brenda instead of allowing Brenda to find out herself. A true friend would have called Brenda as soon as the audition was over to let her know. Instead she kept it to herself, and by her own admission later on, admitted to being jealous Brenda everytime something good happens to her. I’m sorry, but that’s just nasty. Kelly may have been a victim of circumstance to start off with, but she handled it like a jealous, spiteful, mean friend.

Kelly is a bit of a victim of circumstances here, she didn't plan anything. But still: if I didn't care about theater, and I was asked to audition for the role my theater-loving best friend wants, I would never audition. It's just a matter of common sense and respect.

@@kristinazubic9669her Maggie was crap. She speaks way too low and quiet for theatre, and she has her back to the audience. When I was doing theatre, we were trained not to do everything Kelly did, although Brenda and Laura nailed it. The director only liked Kelly because of her looks, it was made evident in this scene.
