You guys caught the parallel with Jackie Jr. giving Meadow a gift to Tony’s gift giving to Carmela through all his infidelities. I feel like most reactions I’ve watched didn’t catch this. As far as Janice I’ve always viewed it as despite her being an ass, she’s Tony’s sister and he’s going to try and look out for he. It’s the reason why anytime she screws up he’s stressed about it. Just look at the Livia situation it took her trying to kill this man for Tony to utter a negative word about her. He fought soo hard to defend his mom despite her being horrible to him. Besides all that can’t forget he’s a mob boss it’d be a terrible look from the outside looking in if his sister got smacked around and he did nothing.

The only reason Tony wanted revenge on the Russian is that he doesn't want people to think they can touch his family and get away with it. It isn't about Janice, it is about him and his image. "She's MY sister".

Even though it is a great episode, I hate when people always comment ''the next one is a banger, can't wait for you to react to the next episode, the next one is must see.'' - because it always raises the expectations so much so that even a masterpiece wouldn't be appreciated. I wish people would just stfu and let them react completely bind.

Plus, I feel like this show more than any other (except Mad Men and maybe Deadwood) wants you to think about what you just watched more than about anticipating what's coming next. Like, even The Wire, a show that clearly wants you to think about its themes, constructs plot in a way that makes you want to speculate what's going to happen, but doing that with Sopranos is pointless.
