Jazakumulahu khair.expecially jabatiyah of Nigeria their extremist in tekfeer.because they changed the word of rosululah kulu bidhat dolahla to kulu bidhat kufr and any kind of prostration is a shirk which rosululah said is haram.they have caused many problem in islam ummah in Nigeria.we still need iqamat l uja on them from the all world of islam

If someone transgresses with takfir and it returns to them, why are the khawarij considered Muslims?

Because if takfir were to be made upon them, we would fall into the same trap they did. And this is along the lines of what 'Ali رضي الله عنه said as well when he was asked if they are disbelievers. Therefore, the most we can do is affirm what the Prophet صلي الله عليه وسلم said, that they will be in the Hellfire, and that if they are aggressive they should be killed. However, their innovations make them deviants and not kuffaar.

It is not the takfir wich returns to the person but the sin of cursing or offending the person. So when someone makes takfir and the takfir was injust then the person gets the sin of the one who cursed or offended another person.
