(Update 2024-09-26: This seems to be fixed?) Apparently if you watch this at any of the 30fps options (480p or below), the audio and video will desync. There is no desync at the 60fps options. I have never heard of this problem before and don't know why it's happening, and I also don't know whether there's anything I can do about it because the sync is totally fine on the video file I uploaded. Sorry about that.

I'm sure someone mentioned it elsewhere in the comments but if you wanna fix your wii sensor bar pointer spazzing out, just replace the "sensor" bar with two small candles. The actual infrared sensor is in the wiimote, the "sensor bar" is just two IR lights for it to use as a frame of reference, which two candles can replicate very brightly from its perspective

@bewildebeest2 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoyed! But it is the original version's graphics. The SD version can natively run at 1080p. It's just the Wii console itself that is limited to 480p, but since this TAS needed to be done on emulator, that didn't apply.

Great to see that the three of you are so passionate about this game! Just incredible how much knowledge you have acquired about it over the years, probably more than the developers themselves! Keep up the awesome work👍🏻 PS: You said it took you four months to record the TAS. How long would a 100% TAS take to record and how long would it probably be?
@bewildebeest2 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoyed! A 100% TAS would probably be around 5:33:01 long, and it would take a little over a year to make, if I recall correctly. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r2badp6ggd12ppI

It's absolutely wild to me how Twilight Princess doesn't have a way to change day to night other than one weird dungeon exit in Arbiter's Ground and Floor 16 Cave of Ordeals. I wonder how much time it would save in each category to have a way to change time of day?
@bewildebeest2 ай бұрын
There are a few other ways, but no fast and portable way. Something like OoT's Sun's Song would probably save a little time in 100%. Time of day matters very little outside of glitchless and 100%, but if it were possible to change time of day instantaneously, it might save a few seconds in any%/all dungeons by skipping the bulblin archer cutscenes in the desert.
@ryuken102 ай бұрын

seeing the TAS movement with the dominion rod statues makes me wish it came back in a future zelda game imagine a BOTW-like with controllable statues you can take almost anywhere in hyrule
@TheArchivistArchive2 ай бұрын
So forgive the dumb question, but I guess with TAS you're essentially programming the run as you mention in the description, getting everything as optimal as you like while really really slowly going through the game, so the finished result is what, an auto-play, using said code? I never quite understood exactly how TASing worked.
@bewildebeest2 ай бұрын
Yes, but note that the "code" I made is just a list of button and control stick inputs corresponding to the frame count, nothing smarter than that. The TAS goes down that list telling the emulator exactly what inputs I said to do on each frame, and that always yields the same result given the same starting state.
@TheArchivistArchive2 ай бұрын
@@bewildebeest Makes sense, thanks for clarifying. Amazing run by the way ^_^
