Fun fact: There was an episode of the anime where two of the different announcer characters (named “Blader DJ” and “American DJ” respectively) challenged each other to a battle. Everyone else in the main cast was super excited because they both had these super rare beys that no one had ever seen before. So they set it up, launched their beys, and the battle played out…exactly like this. Like the beys tapped each other a few times and then quietly spun out at the same time. It was the most anticlimactic thing ever and the shows one faint glimmer of self-awareness. It was awesome

It’s very funny to me that this anime showed the entire spectrum of what is plausible to do with a beyblade From “I costumize my beyblade for different situations”, through “my beyblade can vibrate the earth and turn it into sand”, then “my beyblade can turn you into stone”, all the way to “Moses from Bible used his god-approved heaven-sent beyblade to part the red sea”

Despite how ridiculous the concept is, I hope most of us can agree that Beyblade Metal was a great show, at least from Fusion to Fury. If you just took a second to forget the real world and thought about the show’s story, you begin to realize just how much effort the creators put into its plot, worldbuilding, characters, and concepts; even though the show’s premise sounds like an elaborate joke at first. It’s the reason many of us as kids really hoped our Bey battles would be that intense. It was just so cool, and despite us not being kids anymore, the fond memories are still there. If only the Beys in our world could be imbued with incredible cosmic power, manifest spirit animals, and cause big explosions in our world. If only…

The Metal series was the peak of beyblade. Leone spun fast enough to start tornadoes, Pegasus jumped so far into the sky and then crashed down at the speed of a meteorite, L-Drago sucked out people's souls, leaving them comatose... that last one was a bit more powerful than the others. After that, even during Shogun Steel, which wasn't all that long after the Metal series, the beys kinda just... didn't do much. One time this guy sent out his beyblade and was the "gate guardian" for some Dark Nebula building and instead of just, idk, walking around the beyblade, they kept challenging him to a fight until they won...

We even had matches where this one guy had a 'invincible' bey and the goal was for all 10-12 of us to team up and take him down. We commandeered a toddler slide that was shallow enough at the bottom for beyblades (and that no one ever used otherwise), and would do crazy tricks like launching from the top of the slide, launching the bey up the slide, and glass cannon tricks like launching directly into the 'invincible' bey. We won like once. I don't remember what bey it was but I remember it was time themed. We had a few matches at free time at the end of the day too, both with stadiums, on the floor, and on desks, but I think someone's beyblade jumped and hit a computer or something, and they got banned.

I wouldn't call that a redemption arc, the things he did were never nearly as bad as destroying the world. Of course he would want to kill the satan beyblade, the real arc was him realising too late that he couldn't do it alone.

When I heard 'Struggle Of Sadness', I was sold. And then the throwing started. Fun fact, there was a Beyblade with a spring on the bottom, and with enough force, you could launch that sucker straight up into the air. It went like, seven feet up. I can't imagine how painful that would be if that thing was launched straight at someone...

Seeing this made me remember a dubbed episode I saw years ago. I don't remember majority of the things here, but I remember the voice actor for the white haired guy. He had such a perfect voice for him that although I have forgotten the name of the character, I have not forgotten that voice. Or maybe it's just nostalgia, but I can still hear that chilling voice even after not watching any show in my native language for years.

Ryuga is the white-haired character, and is the guy who uses L-Drago, a beyblade that spins the opposite way of most others and moves in the opposite orbit + steals the "spin" from other beyblades. He had a classic voice in the English Dub, too.
@bitwolfy
@bitwolfy Жыл бұрын
It's shocking just how little the cast went on to do, according to behind the voice actors Ryuga is like the only thing his dub actor ever did, despite him absolutely crushing the role, and doing a better job than any "professional" dubber who works for Crunchyroll or otherwise. Probably has something to do with it being a Canadian dub.

I have no where else to share this, nor a good time till now. Back when beyblades first released I made a top mixing gen 1+2 pieces it didn't fit properly and would explode sending parts and sparks everywhere. It left a hole in the drywall, a bruise on me, and a small burn scar on my friend/ opponent. Then I grew up had a kid bought a beyblade and it's all plastic and super safe. Kids these days don't know what they were missing XD.
