I really like the look of these headphones, and the quality of the sound in your video. I almost turned away from these because you said you can't hear yourself and the world around you, but then you mentioned the augmented mode which does allow you to hear yourself and the world around. I think this mode has saved the headphones for me. I have shortlisted these headphones for purchase soon.

I recently got this headset specifically for the mic. It impresses from that aspect. It also does have a tiny red led that lights up at the mic input when muted so you can see you are muted. The quality of the build seems very solid. The sound is terrific and seems to be very matched in left and right ears. BUT, with all that said, this headset makes me cry a little. Maybe I'm spoiled but the lack of dual Bluetooth and sound sense of for those price point as does the lack of side tone and game/chat mix. I am a bit put off by the need to have the manual in front of me to understand the secret hands by Ake that is the crazy button combos too get functions working. Maybe I will learn. I think if I keep the headset, it will end up being a situational headset that I use in area where it shines such as games with footfall steps. It shines there. But otherwise, I still prefer my steelseries as a daily driver and I have the audeze Maxwell's sitting in a box waiting to bed opened up. In regards too dinner complaints I've seen about the battery life, I disagree. It provides more than you need unless you just don't have a life.

Thank you for sharing bro. I have used the Nova pro wireless headset for almost 2 years and recently bought the Maxwell, but had this one under my radar for over half a year now. I really miss a good sounding mic (before the Nova Pro wireless I had the GSP 670 and it was a winner) and working a lot from home good mic is very big. I would really appreciate it if you could update here as for your personal opinion about this one versus the Maxwell

Personally, I find oval ear cups work better with glasses arms, but the ear cups do look plush enough to maybe not cause an issue.

I recently tried this headset out and wanted to love it, but quality control is really holding this thing back. My unit produced a constant ticking sound in the left earcup when connected via Low Latency mode. And I wasn't the only one. Several people online have reported this issue and Beyer hasn't been able to resolve it for them outside of shipping them new units which often also had the same issue. Hope they can get things under control, because they definitely have a great product on their hands!

I just got these MMX200, but I also already have the MMX150 8:00 I think there is an audible cue, it's a little beep and a red led on the mic, the same way for the MMX150, but for some reason, I cannot mute it, it works sometimes, but then it unmutes itself and I cannot mute it again
@oligdaseoncic
@oligdaseoncic 5 ай бұрын
okay, a little bit of more testing, the mic has no audio cue for muting, but it has the red led, but the mute led only shows when an app is using the mic, I want to try these for my job, hope it works fine with our software beside that, audio, and mic quality is really good imo, I would recomend it both MMX150 and MMX200

Do they have the same earpads? It sucks that they don't offer valour replacement pads to fix the comfort issue, so I want to know if the 200 has deeper or larger earpads than the 150

You said there was no indicator to check if your mic is muted or not. There is a tiny little light indicator at the end of the attachable mic, it turns red when you're muted. I discovered it last night when I was playing in the dark.

Thanks for the review. I was interested right up until the “no monitoring” part - and it would need to be zero latency at that. Ah well, maybe in a future firmware update if the underlying hardware is actually capable I suppose. Cheers

@TheProvokedPrawn 10 ай бұрын
Yeah it always surprises me when there's no mic monitoring but also some people just don't like it. So you can't please everyone 🤷🏼‍♂️ I can get on without it here but the downside is without it you can't be sure when you're actually muted. At least not easily.

I’ve been looking at this headset, and I have a question. Both, my desktop and laptop PCs have USB-C. I also have a Steam Deck for on-the-go, which also has USB-C. Can I utilize the USB-C dongle, without the A, and should this work for Steam Deck? I’d like to have one headset for all three items. I’m still looking at a couple of other options, including IEMs, and am watching a lot of reviews. I just wanted to ask. I’d be interested, still, with the option of 3.5mm analog cable. But .. Beyer Dynamic chose to use the analog cord as the object of a cash grab. It’s almost turned me away. Thanks. Just stumbled across your channel. Sub’d.

A lot about this headset is “such a shame” because it looks pretty decent. No sidetone on headset like this is INSANE. No dual wireless/bluetooth is INSANE. I know a lot of people that play on PS4 and then join Discord voice chats from their mobile phones and then piped their headsets that support dual modes - Turtle Beach and Steelseries headsets for example.

It becomes increasingly suspicious that everytime you "review" something, you seem to rave about it. Makes these reviews seem less genuine and more like you are doing the bidding of the companies providing these products (and compensation) to you. Might not be the case; that's just the way it seems.
@TheProvokedPrawn
@TheProvokedPrawn 10 ай бұрын
Thanks for the feedback but I don't think that's right. I made criticisms too? Or maybe you missed them. The buttons are confusing and awkward, there's a lack of mic sidetone, the earcups might be too small for some people, etc. otherwise I happen to like an expensive headset from a well known company. I'm not compensated for anything, just giving my honest opinion and trying to be objective about it. From memory I also had complaints about other headsets recently. I said Razer's Blackshark V2 Pro lacked bass and I didn't like it for that, Logitech's G Pro X 2 doesn't have a good microphone, Corsair's HS80 new model has a worse mic than the previous version. I always find things for and against and try to give an honest opinion. That's all reviews are though so... P.s. if I was compensated I'd have to declare it by law. And I've never been sponsored.

@@TheProvokedPrawn Thanks for you reply and explanation. I’ve been following your channel for a while and that was just the impression I had gotten. If that was a wrong characterization of you and your channel, then I apologize for coming off as accusatory. Perhaps it was my own perceived bias and suspicion of online reviews rather than your specific content. I’ll watch and listen more closely in the future for honest criticism of products as opposed to only paying attention to (oftentimes hyperbolic) praise. Cheers and thanks for the content. Especially enjoyed your Lian-Li builds.
