I love how thick her voice is now. Her low notes and belts (even upper) have so much more depth that I love, yet that range is still intact and supported. Love the A5/Bb5 in Freedom, always wondered what the chorus would sound like up the octave. Still got the best vibrato and head voice in the business. Her technique is second to none! People need to understand that pregnancy (especially with twins) changes the position of internal organs and hormonal changes often increase the weight and depth of the voice. It's important to take a longer break from performing, strengthen the muscles with exercise and re-learn your whole voice and then slowly get back to singing. Going back too early can be detrimental, even for someone as talented as Bey, Mariah is a good example of post pregnancy being the kiss of death for the voice. Beyonce's voice is still healthy and intact, but even when she regains her stamina fully, she won't be singing soprano belts like she used to before, her voice is too rich for that nowadays. And we all know Bey isn't one to wail shrill or twangy highs at all cost, she's all about the quality of the notes.

@@_mariahs_lamb_4ever848 first of all, Mariah is my biggest idol and I love her, her voice and her songs more than I ever will Beyonce. However, factually speaking, her voice is damaged, she's had nodules for so many years now and they don't go away, they get bigger and harder, making full cord closure impossible, which is especially audible in mixed voice - a soprano, even one approaching fifty, shouldn't start to struggle so low in their belting range. Mariah still has her talent, her ear, good technical background and beautiful tone to work around that though and I still listen to her, studio and live. And Caution is bomb.com
@broderickwong74136 жыл бұрын
ocandro Mariah is now more an Alto now... she might be struggling with belting in the 5th octave but her lower range is still so powerful. She went lower last year than Bey who is a really Mezzo. She definitely regressed and her voice is damaged but she hasn’t lost it.

I'm kinda disappointed in her lower register though, F3 has never sounded so low for her, if you understand what I mean (which is weird, because her tessitura definitely lowered to A3-A5 this year). Also her tone sounds very tired, but a lot of aspects in her vocals have improved. More connected head voice, more projected mid-belts, better pitch and legato. I think she'll have to be belting in the soprano range with Disney soon enough. It's not really better than 2016, because back then Beyoncé had the stamina plus most of these improvements and it showed with Beautiful Ones. I wouldn't call her rock screams as belts though, more like artistic expression. I really like her version of no Church In The Wild, wish she'd sing it no-autotune and more of it live though. Also 2015 had Precious Lord and her Stevie Wonder tribute, which other than that was overall a worse year though. But those two performances are some of her best vocally and/or musically. I wouldn't call it a promising year, but it seems she's returning to a more exotic vocal pallette and a more technical approach.

I wonder if she still takes vocal lessons if not maybe she could just get a refresher course
@taytaybeynippy4864 жыл бұрын
I honestly don't think she does anymore regrettably. She stopped working with vocal coaches around 2014 or so. That seems understandable especially when you consider the fact that she had subsequent vocal coaches ever since she was 8 years old. So, she's been under the care of vocal teachers for over 25 years of her life. If anything she's probably more then qualified to be a vocal coach herself. I think her issue mostly lays within the fact that she forfeited every bit of attention she had for being polished vocally around the year 2015 or so.

Her second passagio is at E5.. its harder for her to bridge that area now that her tessitura has settled a semitone or so lower pre- twin pregnancy.

@@KoolKid_at Clearly, you don't. "B2" at 0:34 is "E3" on a piano. If you can't hear the difference between notes that are 3 piano keys apart, then you're either tone deaf or your piano is seriously out of tune. "A#5" at 27:57 is "A5". Again, you should know the difference if you "know how to use a piano".

Solo12313 Solo12313 she actually still is in her prime. it’s kinda hard to believe considering how long she’s been at it with non stop singing, but nothing, and I mean, NOTHING has changed about her technique and capabilities except the fact that her voice darkened even more after having the twins. if you go look at Tay’s video titled “Beyoncé - 100 C5 Belts” there’s a part where she’s singing ave Maria in 2009 and then it switches to her singing it in 2018 and you can actually hear the improvement, fullness and resonance she showcased in the 2018 performance this year than she did in 2009. she is DEFINITELY still in her prime. check for yourself! the time stamps are 0:36 & 0:47

No. She has more intonation issues than before, her lows are a little bit less consistent support wise (low-larynx, breathlessness), and she doesn't really belt high anymore. I'm not saying she's bad by any means, better than most people's favs, and she still has really good technique, but compared to 2008-2014, she was not as good as before. And she relies a bit more on lip syncing now too.
