Since everything basically transitions into one long song or One long club mix, I like to say that I have favorite segments on the album My favorites are: 1. Plastic off the sofa 2. Virgos groove 3. Move 4. Heated The first two are sensual R&B and the second two are Dancehall pop created by Pharrell and Drake I grew up listening to R&B and Dancehall and Beyoncé has always been one of the few artists who was able to combine the two genres so effortlessly. My next segment of favorites are 1. I’m that girl 2. Cozy 3. Alien superstar 4. Cuff it These songs are all about empowerment, strutting your shit and dancing They’re fabulous.

The ending to heated is what is called 'chanting' in ballroom culture. Ballroom is not what you'd think in the traditional sense. It's where the lgtbq community went to have a space and compete and win prizes when not allowed in the limelight. Voguing is a huge component of ballroom- break dancing but in the sense that the "dance move" is picturesque, as if any moment captured on camera while voguing could be fitting for the cover of vogue.... This album is paying homage to LGBTQ culture, disco, and so much more.

So true. Not everyone has good taste nor can they realize and appreciate extraordinary skills and talent.
@TheSleepyBeautyCo2 жыл бұрын
I wish y’all would’ve given this incredibly talented black woman artist her credit where it is due. “This sounds like Travis” “This sounds like Ye” “Oh, this must be the song Drake wrote.” As music reactors/reviewers, please expand your palette. Especially when you’re gonna react to an artist as dynamic and erudite as Beyoncé. She’s paying homage to disco/house/funk legends. Folks who were killing shit before any of the aforementioned men were born. She has plenty of writing and production credits of her own on this album…so to constantly see you all downplay what makes this such a stellar album sonically and conceptually (Beyoncé herself) is disappointing. Go listen to Cece Peniston, Cheryl Lynn, Prince, Martha Wash and you’ll have a better reference point for what she was going for. I know this was a raw reaction, but just wanted to share this for your knowledge!
@edwinr.64942 жыл бұрын
That’s just a natural thing to do. We were honestly just comparing things we know to this specific album. We know she’s creative in her own way. I said it multiple times during the reaction. It’s not like she’s not inspired by anything or anyone either.
@itss_nattyj2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think they downplayed it at all. They just connected to it with what they know. They seemed to enjoy the album…dude sweated his curls out and constantly said she’s top tier. So open minded, just listening to the artistry as well as showing your willingness to dig deep into your musicality while doing it makes me respect you two so much. This album means a lot to a lot of people for many different reasons, it's beautiful to hear some positive unique perspectives. Lets face it, this album was for the LGBTQIA+ community with a focus on the black people that have had to be so strong and carry a culture that society deems inferior. There's so many nods to so many groups of people as well. Mannnn, I love yall SUBCRIBED MAN

You didn’t like “All Up In Your Mind” but I loved it. I was shocked it was a Beyoncé song, I felt like a song Grimes would record - I marked it on first listen. This is such an eclectic album, it’s completely chaotic! Every time I listen though, I notice something new to like in songs I thought I didn’t care for. New textures and layers to appreciate with every listen. It really is an assault on the senses though, it’s almost overwhelming and that’s why it could’ve been shorter. Very experimental. Maybe too experimental for some fans. I’m really shocked this is the first time you’ve listen to a Beyoncé album. I heard Beyoncé/Destiny’s Child albums in my house since childhood.

I loved this and was highly entertained. I hope more straight men can follow your lead. My man refused to listen to the album with me or even acknowledge that it was good even though he loves dance music. And it’s interesting how people like different songs. Virgo’s Groove is almost universally adored but that was one of the ones your friend liked the least.
