The saddest part is when he asks her about her aspiration in life and she answers to be happy, even when she looks absolutely flawless she doesn't feel complete or happy, when you think of it a lot of us grew up not knowing what we want or why were we born in the first place, with no role models, no one to support us or accept our imperfections and make us feel loved, believing in our potentials instead of limiting us and putting us into boxes of what society expects us to be, no one there to perpetuate the concept of dreams or talent or different is ok, different is good, but everyone wanting you to lool a certain way, get a degree at a certain age, find a job, have kids but not later, cuz the clock is ticking, for us women, our every move is followed by criticism, sometimes on things we can't control, it's frustrating and unfair but we are the source of life, beauty, kindness and giving, remember you are loved and appreciated in all forms, sizes, races and genders no matter how you decided to live your life ❤

Cause when you're pretty, you're treated better. People will put you on a pedestal so high, you wouldn't want to leave that euphoria. We do say we "love ourselves" but in the deepest darkest pits of our being, we craved that love, praise and other things ppl lay only for the pretty ones.

This song isn’t just “good”. It’s a masterpiece, as is this video. As someone who had pretty severe anorexia for four years, I appreciate how well the suffering of perfectionism and weight obsession was captured here. Very emotional but empowering message to rise above our impossibly high and often destructive beauty standards.

One of the few songs of Beyoncé’s I TRULY enjoy....mainly because it’s such a deep and TRUE message. Sadly, doesn’t matter who you are, everyone struggles with insecurities, and we live in a society that puts SO much emphasis on looks (definitely a disease of a nation as she said!) we (society) focus on perfection on the outside SO much, we forget what’s TRULY important - what’s inside, and how YOU feel about YOURSELF. Others shouldn’t have the power to make you feel ugly or beneath someone else, sadly, all of us have felt that way at some point in time. We need to take the power back and stop letting others determine how we look, feel or how we THINK we should look. EVERYONE is beautiful. Every single person. Yes, you, the one reading this, you’re beautiful! Damn what someone else’s thoughts are. Tall, short, dark skin, pale skin, medium skin, small breast, big breast, thin, chubby, fat, muscular, petite, etc etc You’re BEAUTIFUL....everyone needs to focus on the inside, their personality, their character, their attitude, etc Outside beauty is subjective, what one may find gorgeous another may not, as long as YOU love you based on how you feel and who you are, and not based off what society is telling you is pretty- that’s important....as long as you’re happy with your personality, your quirks, your attitude, your aspirations & dreams, how you treat others etc THATS true beauty! All of you are beautiful 😘

The song itself isn’t saying that being pretty is the problem or that girls/she don’t want to be pretty, it’s the forcing of all these harsh “beauty” standards and the hazardous levels they reach that are really killing people on the inside. “Perfection is a disease of a nation,” she wrote. And it is. It kills you from the inside-out.
@Kzzhzzk6 жыл бұрын
Sia wrote this beautiful song! And yes, it is about the society nowadays, they brainwash people into making them think that you need to look a certain way to be "beautiful" when in reality beauty is something people make. @@user-gl6nl8ce8y your uniqueness is being you. You are not everyone. You're you. You also should consider not believing,or becoming what everyone says. Define yourself,be whatever you want to be, and watch your uniqueness shine
