Slings used as ambush weapons makes sense. At close range those stones can have quite the impact.

The Roman’s developed special medical tools to extra sling projectiles from wounds. They were extremely lethal weapons. Also I’m gay

There are a couple of examples of the sling pouch at the National Museum. They are listed officially as hair ties. However, their design and even their damage exactly matches other confirmed sling pouches from Jorvik and on the continent.

The problem is when I was there, I wanted to talk with someone about what they were. I had done some archeology, but had no degree. I was shown the door.

Another well done video! 😁👍 I love the combination of appropriate video with pictures and in my experience for now it seems unique to show some from museums. 😃 (if you could credit the museums in text on the video, and in the video description it'd help people like me know where to go to see more like you've shown 😉). Thank you for sharing your knowledge of history!

Thanks for the compliment and I did mention the museum at the start of the video (National history in Dublin) but you are correct and I will put it in the description. Thank again for the feedback.
