The elements of a great classic is its able to touch your emotions. The actors are believable people you want to be with. A variety of realism among the cast of individuals draws you in to the story you then feel a part of the eventual outcome.

I lost my Hubby of 50 years in June. I understand your sorrow. The Bible says the two become one when we wed. It also says in Psalms 139 that He loved us from before we were born, and numbered our days. In His plan that is more than we can understand, He chose to give us more days to do His will on earth.
