Lucky to catch the helicopters! What a wonderful bit of kit they are!! It’s been interesting about these target railways, not heard about them before. Surprised how far away they were firing at them! We’re they electric trains?

I've seen the loco described as a 'battery loco' which gives an idea of how it was powered.

@ Probably like the loco’s they had in factories and warehouses years ago, they must have brought up charged batteries up on the moor when they wanted to use it!👍

Note I didn't approach the Cow & Calf, as for the squaddies, those who didn't excell behind a desk often did in other ways, then there were those who simply couldn't be bothered, I would be in the latter, which showed in my lack of attendance.

Lucky you. I guess the choppers were the glimps of NATO nuke strike training that is going on last two weeks across Europe. How come you always in a right place at the right time?
