My favorite part is the beginning with those cute little girls. I lived in Korea for one year and whenever I was working out in the park nearby, little kids would come around and play with me. They would try to hang on the pull-up bar but were too short so I would lift them so they could grab that bar. Now I am back to Belgium and when I work out and that kids come around to play, the parents quickly come and tell their kids to stay away from me. I feel happiness has lost people's soul, they all look at each other with hatred and fear.
@bike4aday3 жыл бұрын
I relate to this so much. Kids can sometimes be very present and overly joyful which is just like the bliss states. A kid looking at you and smiling can draw you right into a bliss state of mindfulness. But what follows the bliss is fear and dread when the thought arises "They'll think you're a predator if youre joyful. You don't want to be seen as a predator, do you?". Attachment to our children brings fear of predators. Joyful adults brings discomfort of unusualness. Ego's attachment to what others think brings fear of being seen as a predator. There is suffering everywhere, but yet there is still bliss in a child's eye, in curious mindful attention, in silly action with no purpose, in a smile with no reason.
@bugrist3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the western world and the collective has been ruined because of so many predators and pedophiles. What has been ruined is the connection between the dimensions of kids and adults, very reciprocally beneficial. That is keeping contact with different human states. But no, that has been corrupted and ruined, can't play with them anymore and also relationship with adults has become more delicate. Society produced ill individuals and now is collective karma. Pity.

The MJ quote reminds me of Sufism in Pakistan, the adherent or Sufi would spin wildly, madly to the sound of the Dhol drum and others will change "mast qalandar mast" (the dervish spins, spins) they do it because they become the drum, they become the dance they become the whirling and they feel it brings themselves closer to God. A whole lot of doctrine to complexify a simple reality: when you authentically explore sensations without language, there’s no such thing as “one thing and another thing”, because pure sensation knows no dimension. Things require language to distinguish one another. Pure sensation is devoid of language. Sitting down to say “I’m going to observe my sensations” is like starting the video game from a dead end. Observation itself is a sensation 😂, usually in the head space. If laying down, it could be spread out a bit. The point is, the more one relaxes into pure minute sensations, the more “outer shells” of concepts fall apart. Like Russian dolls. There’s a next bigger shell of concept after the last. Once your “last concept” cracks like an empty egg shell, an awakening experience takes place. It’s that simple. Historical texts have simply named the sensational experience of each egg shell crack and fall. Each experience’s nuances make them seem complex, unique, hierarchical and difficult to attain, but the feeling of a difficulty is part of the language trap once again. The first real awakening is being aware of the sensation of “resistance to being aware of sensations”. The second is exploring/investigate said sensation. The third is to sit still and explore further emerging and falling sensations continually. The fourth is becoming genuinely aware of the illusory attainment hierarchy, which is possible early on. But I’m not enlightened. Just what I’ve experienced so far.
