I made Amityville Christmas Vacation! Actually posted in the subreddit that I won a Fangoria Chainsaw Award for "Best Amityville" so it's officially THE BEST. I just saw how many Amityville movies there were and lost my mind that it became a "genre." When I realized there hasn't been a "Christmas" one yet I KNEW I had to be the first. So I made it a straight up Hallmark Romantic Comedy just to make sure the first Christmas Amityville wasn't some try hard horror film. Make it as a total parody to take the piss out of the genre. But I made it in TWO DAYS with $300 whole dollars, $50 of which went towards replica Clark Griswold pajamas, because I originally just made it as a joke/gag. Then of course it gets me some of the most press I've ever gotten for ANY of my movies because that's how life works. Edit: KZbin keeps not letting me reply but some of my other films include CarousHELL 1 and 2 (3 next month) and Shingles the Movie.

He died but the guy who helped him bring it to market kept the design in an invention "morgue." Years later a company asked him for a fun promotional toy to give out, he saw the psychic tool sitting around and changed it to an eight ball. It did so well he started selling it.

I'm pleased to see a couple of the films I wrote pop up in the list. Amityville Witches. Ironically the Amityville thing was an afterthought by the producers half way through writing the film. Then it was shot in a remote area in England and didn't look at all like it was Amityville and had absolutely nothing to do with amityville. I actually enjoyed this one. It's not remotely scary and sort of goofy but there's a certain charm to it and I love the cast. The other was Ouija Hosts which was a faux, semi improvised ghosthunter show/mocku. That was shite. Again, the Ouija part was a total after thought. The original title was just Ghost Hosts (the name of the fictional 'show'). That's my second time on RLM now (Mega Lightning was featured on a Best of the Worst).

@@josephmayfield945 some of those are crowdfunded. A lot are financed by distributors who pay a production company to make the film and then they release it or sell it on to other territories. @@talleyman2744 it all started by applying for a job on a film website (Mandy). From then it's mostly been repeated gigs with the same producers, getting recommended by them to other producers. The funny thing about the Ouija board is that it's original purpose was not to contact the dead or ghosts etc, it was to contact yourself, it was to ask your subconscious questions about your true self. The idea was by have a group of people together you would push it around and ask innermost questions and get those answers, it was really a game about what your friends really thought about you. Then of course it got taken over by the spiritual movements and people were like "hey lets use this table of letters to ask ghosts stuff" and the ghost scamming began.

"Comfortably Dumb" as a response to "Shark Side of the Moon" shows incredible levels of cleverness at breakneck cognitive speed... I cannot stop laughing at your title suggestion: "Texorcism".Dude...GENIIUS! I have always contended that the shortest pitch session in Hollywood history consisted of just one word; "Sharknado" which resulted in an immediate green light for the project! Well, "Texorcism" could rival that record! Both words consist of nine letters so it is a roll of the dice as to which would be fastest. ... Come on! "Texorcism" would absolutely be green-lit! It would go down like this: Producer to writer: "Ok kid, I will give you 3 minutes to pitch me an idea, then you get the hell outta my office." Writer: "Thank you, but it won't take 3 minutes." Producer: (perplexed) "Very well, 30 seconds then." Writer: "Gratitude, but still entirely more time than I need." Producer: "My, aren't we confident today! Ok then, begin!" Writer: "Texorcism" Producer: "We begin shooting NOW!"
