In this special collection of Danger Close episodes, Jack sits down with Atria Books Deputy Director of Publicity, David Brown, and IRONCLAD Director of Original Content, Jesse Carey, to break down each novel in his bestselling Terminal List series.
The latest installment in the series, ONLY THE DEAD, releases this week.
In each episode of this spotlight series, Jack, David, and Jesse give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the James Reece saga, providing plot overviews and summaries of each of the books leading up to ONLY THE DEAD to let fans catch back up on the story. (Warning: These episodes contain spoilers.)
In this episode, they discuss book 5, IN THE BLOOD.
From the publisher:
A woman boards a plane in the African country of Burkina Faso having just completed a targeted assassination for the state of Israel. Two minutes later, her plane is blown out of the sky.
Over 6,000 miles away, former Navy SEAL James Reece watches the names and pictures of the victims on cable news. One face triggers a distant memory of a Mossad operative attached to the CIA years earlier in Iraq-a woman with ties to the intelligence services of two nations…a woman Reece thought he would never see again.
Reece enlists friends new and old across the globe to track down her killer, unaware that he may be walking into a deadly trap.
Danger Close is an IRONCLAD Original.

As far as cliffhangers go, there's really 2 kinds. The first kind is the one people hate, when you reach the climax of a story, and it's not fully concluded, forcing you to get the next book. But the second is a GREAT kind of cliffhanger. Those are the ones that wrap up the story you are reading, and then add in a NEW element that sets up a NEW threat/obstacle for the next book. That's what you did at the of In The Blood, and it's THOSE cliffhangers that are incredible. So keep doing that Jack! It's that exact cliffhanger that's kept me so invested waited for this newest release :)

I try to limit myself to a couple of chapters per day, otherwise in a day or so I'm done, and waiting for the next book.

Really enjoyed "in the blood"... What an incredible first read and introduction to jack carr for me - I didn't know it was part of a series of books about james reese...To date, I have read those first few in order, and am currently reading "only the dead". btw, reading a book beats listening to one! Listened to a book once however reading is a great "work-out for the brain - besides the fact that for "readers"...reading is addictive.
