This is insane timing. I am in the middle of prepping for a players personal side quest within the phandelver and below campaign that connects it to the Wild Beyond the Witchlight campaign. I used the chapter from this adventure called Porpherio’s Garden for my Harengon Rogue to reestablish the fey connection that once existed at Conyberry so that the Witchlight Carnival would return. If only this was releasing like next week It would save me a lot of time homebrewing everything in Beyond and Beyond Maps.

“If there’s one certainty in life, Todd, it’s that somebody’s going to try to you cut you down, especially if you’re a tree” OR a Highlander too. Looking forward to this book and the variety of adventures contained within. Love that each is both narratively and mechanically so distinct.

It seems the anthology books are usually pretty spot on. You know what would be a cool idea for one would be spelljammer! Imagine a star trek style adventure with like 15 different adventures with each one being unique. No great evil threat, just a whole bunch of one shot adventures

Honestly an anthology of adventures in different planets / wildspace systems would have been a way better companion piece in the Spelljammer set than Light of Xaryxis. Aside from the Rock of Bral and the locations in the Adventure, gameable setting details were pretty empty. An anthology that fleshes that out would be awesome. Radiant Citadel is a good example of what that would look like as an anthology of short adventures with mini-settings, but instead of hub planet chapter it'd be a toolbox chapter for DM's with tables to inspire creation of new wildspace systems and planets which can flesh out the in-between of those adventures.

@@JazzyBassy Recently I've come to the conclusion that WoTC needs to have an official equivalent to DnD Adventure Club (perfect for getting 7-14 year olds into both playing and DMing) but for adults and/or Pathfinder's Adventure Quests. Both of those provide a simple trilogy (in the case of DnD Adventure Club - the trilogy equals ~3 hours of gameplay) that gives you a nice bit-sized chunk of TTRPG. In Pathfinder's case, they have a little tag at the end - "did you enjoy this trilogy? Get the source book for more lore/etc in the same area". I think it works both for players and for marketing.

This adventure was ALWAYS meant to take place in the Feywild. A well made choice!

As a Brit, I enjoyed this adventure's links to Shakespeare and nod towards the Celtic mythos... I'm disappointed you made changes. They were not necessary.

I think placing it in the fey wild was a good choice

Do we know if the original authors consulted on the changes made? If they were cool with it, I’m more open to them. If current WotC made the changes without the authors consent, I’ll one hundred percent be changing some stuff back.

@@matthewsnow-zj1cuCould it be that his epithet was "the Green Man"? Or am I mistaking him with a different figure?

I'm a bit confused about the new name - Euryale in the Book of Many Things is also called "The Gardner" I think? The old name sounds better to me!!
@Dan-Dillon5 ай бұрын
Originally it was the Green Man, very much pulled from Celtic mythology. This is made more its own thing, and a distinctly D&D thing.
@EricMesa4 ай бұрын
Sounds awesome - glad I pre-ordered! Don't know if D&D actually replies to comments here, but with this coming out so close to the 2024 revamp - will it be updated in the digital version to reflect changes or does it not matter?

Make "La salvahada" the official Spanish translation of the feywild instead of the "reino faherico" (fey kingdom) wich is now.

Rephrased "Lots of room to grow!". I also tried to play and DM the original and found that it had some neat ideas, but was poorly written. Here's hoping they've done a good job.
