I’m not gonna lie, watching this entire three hour long gameplay of Beyond The Edge Of Owlsgard feels like watching an epic full length movie! I think maybe the creators of this game should do more of this awesome franchise!

Spoiler warning. Even though it's not stated in the game, obviously the original creators who created the machines and the scepter were humans. And the original world we saw was really a post-apocalyptic Earth where humans had gone extinct and were replaced by the machines and eventually the animals after they were shut down and the two worlds merged. I wasn't expecting the game to go down that route or for humans to have any involvement in it in any way, even though there were no living ones left during the game.

Reminds me of people who had a fit upon learning that humans exist in settings like Usagi Yojimbo and Poppy O'possum.

The game reminds me a lot of Inherit the Earth, another point and click adventure game from 3 decades ago with a 'similar' story of humans being long gone. And despite being a game from 30 years ago would you believe there's still an on going web comic for it?

Grew up on point and click adventure games since the 80s, primarily by Lucas Arts, Sierra and Westwood Studios. Only seeing this game now, looks really charming. Might give it a try. Kind of reminds me of Inherit the Earth. 😊

For me, this was hauntig. At least the thought of humanity wiping all the animals on Earth and replace them with glitchy AI or simple robots. I don´t want to live in that sort of world. One of the best and most captivating epic adventures in recent years!

What I want to know is how the animals got smart enough to take the sceptor-like device and are able to evolve to have human traits. Did the humans experiment on them that allowed them to gain super intelligence?

3:01:41 So from what I understand so far based on the whole plot of the game titled “Beyond the Edge of Owlsgard” all the animals (a.k.a. the ancestors of their animals who helped create the alternate world for their descendants to live in to escape their total annihilation) who had to leave the old world 🌎🌍🌏🗺️ mainly because they were facing near extinction due to the part of humans' unrestrained interference/meddling with their way of living/thinking had led up to where it meant that the animals had to use their technology, in the end, to help them ensure their survival in a(n) alternate parallel dimension to avoid becoming/being completely extinct in the old world 🌎🌍🌏🗺️ due to the human’s blind misguided, actions through it all but whether that was either all intentional or ignorance on the humans part though it all that could’ve been caused indirectly/directly by them then and now during that time right up to the point where they became extinct instead doesn’t matter anymore, especially now that the animals 🐈🐶🐕🐇🐀🦔🐿️🦝🦡🫏🦬🐃🐂🐄🐎🐐🐍🐒🦍🦅🦆🐓🐅🦃🐑🐘🦌🐬🐺🦉🦇🦒🦜🦘🦙🐪🐊🦏🦓🦛🐏🦫🦥🦈🦨🪿🦩🦧🦚🦭🐦⬛🐆🦢🐫🦦have a second chance to start all over again and not have to worry about the mistakes of the past never being repeated ever again since the parallel world, and the old world have now been merged after the device that created it was close to losing power and then accidentally destroyed but that in turn helped give them a new land to live in without fear of threat from either humanity or their machines affecting/endangering them ever again and so with all of that in mind, I guess that doesn’t sound too much of a bad end for how everything turned out from then till now for them all, right (?).

2:53:36 I don’t know if it’s possible, or if it can even be done in any shape or form, but if there’s any likelihood to do so could/would it be doable for the robotic duplicate of Finn to have the opportunity to start over now that there is new land and resources available to them thanks to the merging of the old world 🌎🌍🌏🗺️ and the parallel world 🌎🌍🌏🗺️ (mainly all thanks to the fact that due to the matter that the animals in the parallel dimension at the time mistakenly destroyed the device that kept their alternate reality going for countless centuries that parallel copy of the old world was able to become one with it to start with) that in turn could help them perhaps restore/rebuild their body in better working condition, and not only that, but if their A.I. was capable of it, although I don’t know for sure if they would be able to do so, but maybe they might also be able to find a way to bring humans back into the world by using their highly advanced intelligence to use some cutting-edge technology (that still might be left behind from the ruined civilization that should still exist in that world) made by either the (long gone) humans or his (corrupted malfunctioning) former fellow machine kind to be able to achieve such a feat all so that the humans might also get a prospect to start over in the world 🌎🌍🌏🗺️ just like the animals have the option/opportunity to do so now, as well, and then hopefully after that they all might have a better chance to start over and avoid repeating the mistakes of the past that their ancestors made and find a way to all coexist together (a.k.a. humans 🚶, animals, as well as machines 🤖) without any complications happening that they did before in those ancient times (?).

Now that I've watched the full game, I have this comment to make aside from how nice it was. Some of the music, especially surrounding the beginning of the game, sounds like it was inspired by Kurt Heinecke, VeggieTales' famous composer. The music in the early game heavily reminds me of this work of his in particular.... m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3XEeaSadr2si6c&pp=ygUfZ29vZCBtb3JuaW5nIGdlb3JnZSB2ZWdnaWV0YWxlcw%3D%3D
