This episode scared me as an 8 year old when it first aired. After many years an being more familiar with written horror It seemed very 'Lovecraftian' much like Alien(1979) where A long dead ship is encountered but something as still Lurking. Planet of the Vampires (1965) also had a similar theme.

OBEY ME! Liked the episode, first time ever watching the animated series. I wasn't aware it took place so much later than the OS and I agree that Star Trek has great potential in animation. Chekov has never looked worse and who would have guessed the Disco Ball Defense would be a bad idea. A reoccurring theme of old Trek seems to be rushed endings though its not so bad to ruin the episode or anything. Thanks as always for the Reviews.

Wow! I really appreciate you trying out the Animated Series with us. Haha, Chekov definitely looks quite strange! That Disco Ball Defense machine has decent potential, but for it to immediately be used against the Bridge crew was quite terrible and hilarious. Yes, I agree. I forgot how unresolved and harsh the endings of TOS were. But yeah, this ending isn’t bad. Just kinda sad. Captain, thank you for the comment. We appreciate hearing from you. I started watching the non animated Star Treks about 2012 but in my opinion the next episode of the series called Yesteryear is the perhpas the best episode of the entire animated series that ran, I saw the ani Trek 1st in 21 during covid lovk down, so... best2 U 2 guys, Amy 🎸❤
