I remember the first version, "Before the Sun Burned Bright" and it's still one of my favorites. The melody is so comforting.

I cried when I learned the tone of this song while studying my music piece.. every pain and loneliness that I have, they're confirmed and my heart was swayed by a heartfelt melody.. It was the song that tells how much I (we) long for His Love and even though it hurts inside of me.. I'm happy to cry it all and happy to know that I am truly In love with our Lord. He is our resting place in His arms we will reside and praise Him all our days.

We discovered this beautiful song recently. Shortly afterwards cancer returned in my husband and he died on Boxing Day. Whilst he could still speak hesitatingly, he said he could see angels with extraordinary colours, blues and green and yellow.he said He did not speak again. He was 86 and had been a servant of God all his life.

such a beautiful yet simple song, reminded me of St Francis of Assisi!! who loved nature and stripped out of everything to be with the Lord and his people. You have a great gift of music, Dan Schutte!! I am so inspired to sing more for the Lord!

This song was originally You Are My Sons, written by Schutte in 1970 (with non-politically correct lyrics) and now he's re-created it as a beautiful Advent song.
