Wow. Whether I agree with Serge or not, I absolutely do not agree with this woman’s judgmental interviewing style at all
@522538255 жыл бұрын
Agreed. That woman does not speak for me. Sergei was beautifully spoken and I understood his intentions perfectly. It is also clear to me that this woman tows the CNN talking points and has no clue that she might have her accusations about Putin and Syria and foreign policy in general, absolutely wrong. I commend Sergei for having the self-restraint to simply state that maybe she will change her mind in 3 to 4 years. There is a lot going on right now and it is clear that only one of the two on that stage understand that. Her interviewing style was abysmal. If not for wanting to see what Sergei had to say, I would NEVER give her a moment of my time.

@José Hoppenstedt Thank you for all the info! This is so sickening, this woman is so arrogant it is sickening. What I love about Sergeï Polunin is his very undisturbed stance, the way he just expresses his views with confidence. He is right, the world isn't just the West. The important thing is to act according to one's believes. I respect him even more after listening to this interview.

The interviewer was not half as judgmental as Sergei himself. Are you familiar with his hateful homophobic views? How would you feel about someone with a Hitler tattoo? Would you judge him as a Neo Nazi or merely provocatively naive? Or self destructive?
@ohwellwhateverrАй бұрын
@@jeffreyanderson1851 I don’t see any hate in Sergei. The so-called “homophobic” posts were nothing of the sort. He only said what the vast majority of people know to be true; that men and women are different and ballet should celebrate that instead of seeking androgyny or pushing men to be feminine or women to be masculine. And while I am no fan of Putin since he clearly is anti-democratic, to equate him to Hitler is just plain ignorant and insulting. Hitler bares responsibility for millions of deaths. Putin is ruthless but not anywhere near to that scale of depravity. You are exactly what is wrong with the West right now.

Normally when people say something that is the opposite of how you feel, it is often very upsetting but for some weird reason, I don’t get upset when he speaks, even though I disagree on Putin. I also think he likes to cause a stir and upset people from time to time. He is always looking for a challenge in life. If he pulls the rug out from under him and makes things difficult for himself from time to time, he creates a challenge, like something exciting that he has to solve and that makes his life interesting. It also makes him fearless, which I admire. If you are always afraid to fail bc you might do or say the wrong thing , you can’t grow into a more mature person.

Tragic, but expectable that they accuse him of being homophobic. Everyone has to be put in a box by the media. It isn’t acceptable that someone can have more complex views. It has to be black or white. But what’s really funny is that he says he doesn’t like to watch classical ballets because often times, the male energy is missing. Sergei is right , in that , I think and that’s exactly why some man don’t want to watch ballet either bc they can’t feel a male presence on stage, even if a man is performing. And then they say men can’t do ballet. I felt that Tybalt, in Verona recently had a lot of stage presence or male energy. He had to be next to Sergei and still show male strength. I don’t know why some men have it and some don’t. It doesn’t have anything to do with wether they are gay or straight, obviously. He says women care about children. She immediately says , ‘this means, men don’t.’ That’s not what he said. He can’t get it right no matter what his answer is. I admire him for not letting himself be pulled into an argument. He looks totally calm. Good for him! Well done!

@teiyadyke62595 жыл бұрын
I'm cringing. When interviewing someone, even if it's someone whose beliefs don't align with your own, there is tact and courtesy that should be maintained. Some may accuse it as putting on airs or not being authentic, but I believe there is a way to be honest while also being polite. Heck, it makes for a tasteful interview to have different viewpoints having a rapport with each other and could be intellectually stimulating for both speakers and the audience. This felt like Tanit was trying to skewer Sergei. I am shocked with Sergei's posts as of late and I definitely don't share the same beliefs he does, but he is his own person as I am my own. We both come from different backgrounds and ways of life. We pick and choose as we think is right and that's dependent on the person. What is right seems so black and white when we're young, but when we grow up, a lot of those things become gray (at least for me when it comes to how the West believes one thing and the East another). What I can say for a fact is that Sergei is a beautiful dancer, he has overcome many trials in his life, and that people at their core have good intentions. No good deed goes unpunished in this world. I admire him for being a hard worker by creating his own path beyond dancing onstage with his appearances in movies and music videos. His Art Up movement was very inspirational to unite humanity with art all over the world. Sergei is not perfect overall but who is? It will make me re-evaluate what kind of fan I am of his. However, I know I am a fan of the man whose story I got a glimpse of in the documentary, Dancer. He's someone who wants to inspire and be a light in a world full of demons of various sorts. Who those demons are is debatable, but I want to believe that they are all of our own creation. We should try to help each other minimize those demons rather than exacerbate them and continue making lives miserable. Yes, we need to be strong, but we should allow ourselves to be vulnerable as well. Vulnerability is not weakness. We need vulnerability so we can have open minds and hearts with each other so we can all improve and coexist peacefully together.

And the Indian salute at the end has overwhelmed me altogether ... And yet, there are many monasteries in Russia with a tradition of high spirituality with holy parents who have passed the threshold of holiness, so if Serioja wants to go to 30 years on a new road, can give to the Church in Russia, and dance to replace it with metania, with Christian-Orthodox prayers. @DLDconference - how could you allow such shameful approach and insulting interview with Sergei Polunin???? If you did not make a public statement to distant yourselves from this so-called journalist and her bullying methods when handling one of the biggest ballet stars in the world, then this calls for immediate public reaction and protest!!!

Jesus Christ this was awful. I do not agree with his views on Putin but there was just no need for talking about next time he has sex etc. It was cringe-inducing. He is always so composed and I was impressed by how he handled himself. As a journalist you must not push your own ideology and beliefs onto the subject that you are interviewing. Of course you have your own opinion, but it is not your place to be so judgemental. She really does not deserve to get work if she cannot conduct herself in a more professional manner.

Sergei you are astonishing when you dance. Your energy is transformative to watch. Your eloquent transparency in measured response to being trolled, in this interview, informs the audience of your unique authenticity.
@interestingvideos4me5 жыл бұрын
I don't think he is calm and collected. I actually think he didn't even understand he was being trolled. Some call it naivete and find it charming, others call it so many other things, from stupidity to lack of opportunity for knowing any better, to lack of character...and for sure there will be someone out there who will find each of those lacks also very charming... regardless of that, I just think the interviewer had a clear agenda of exploring his dim-wit as a way to cast a shadow over his magnificent talent. She should not do that. And indeed, didn't achieve that. he is a genius in dance. He is young and for the moment his arguments on other things only show he needs to read. If not to change his mind, at least to make himself clearer, or make his arguments more convincing. dimwitted genius he is!

Watching her, thinking she’s one of those people who refuses to listen to what he’s saying. We don’t need this kind of twisted crap anymore. I wish there were some way to know that the interviewer could read this. In fact interviewer isn't even the word to describe her - doesn't "inter" mean between, and "view" of course a way of seeing. She isn't allowing for any "between". She is certainly not behaving as a journalist. My son, as a sophomore in college, had to interview Charles Murray, who wrote The Bell Curve, in which he presented odious views on race and intelligence (I am simplifying). My son did not act like a dictator as this woman does. Sergei certainly may have views with which many or most people disagree strongly, but one of the points of journalism is to present information, not dictate it. Though he conducted himself with grace in spite of her tirades, she still scarcely let him speak. She is not writing an op ed.

I watched 4 minutes of this interview and this female interviewer clearly is the most disrespectful human being by asking the most provoking and distasteful questions to a person that has achieved in Life artistry in dance and expression that is most outstanding. Besides she is clearly in an attacking sitting position leaning toward him and loves to hear herself talk as she puts him down. Sergei handles it well by his charm and smile. But his posture and the way he looks at her clearly express discomfort. I pity her. She sits there believing she is powerful by asking disgraceful questions. I feel sad to see that Sergei has to go through interviews like this. However it only makes him seem more human and kind and even more beautiful inside out. She judges him and insults him so many times even in the first 4 minutes that his tattoo seems angelic in comparison to her soul. This is written by me not because I like to judge people, but because I believe in the good and in respect towards others, no matter who they are and what they do. She should be forever grateful for Sergei allowing to even interview him as one of THE greatest Ballet dancers of our time. The fact that she is even allowed to interview that way is deeply unsettling and shocking. Every interview I have seen so far , it was revealed that Sergei is not just a magical dancer but has a beautiful spirit , and this woman can not take it away from him. In fact she looks so small next to him by having no integrity and invading his personal space by the most horrendous questions that never I could never come up with in my worst nightmares. It's funny how he seems even more of a beautiful person the worse the interviewer portraits her real self by her dirty questions. PS: There are millions of women who would love to have sex with Sergei and she is probably frustrated that she isn't as good looking as him. Therefore she had to play a bad joke on a tattoo.
