One of the unconventional, different and most relatable speeches I've ever heard. MMD is truly a successful beauty queen despite of having been judged and most criticized queen. Yet, she managed to be resilient and pushes herself to stand her advocacies and not being ashamed of. She is one of the most empowered Filipina knowing that she is the Philippines Tourism Ambassadress. We have the same story back in college when I also almost faailed to graduate and it is one of my lowest points because my mother passed away due to Kidney Disease. But I remained determined and looked back what is my reason to continue my dreams and who I dedicated my achievements in life. It is not bad to be different. Being different is unique. Being different what makes you stand out to be recognized what is your story all about. I am also a part of LGBTQIA+, I am different and I am limitless🏳️‍🌈

Who the heck are we kidding here? The only Tedx I really enjoyed was the blockchain presentation a few years back. But Tedx having someone talk about beauty? Seriously? Someone who obviously got far locally because of connections and influence. Now that would have been a better and realistic talking point especially in the Philippines. Maybe Tedx should have invited Chelsea Manalo instead who actually experienced racism in her own country and without the connections and economic privilege? This was a bit over the top and pointless. The typical sob and triumph story of someone growing up who never really had to worry about what to eat or where to go on vacation. Seriously?
