When I first discovered this short film I was blown away, the fact that such a giant and powerful machine being so careful and gentle of its surroundings that humans used to inhabit, when it uprooted the tree with careful precision and risking his own life to protect such a fragile shard of what remained, the fact that this machine sees hope in a dead and desolate world is truly amazing

I absolutely love the design of the giant, how it's "feet" aren't feet at all, just spikes to grip it into the ground. As to gently traverse the destroyed landscape without damaging the already destroyed ground/buildings in it's environment. Awesome short film.

No. Unfortunately not. The line was crossed twenty years ago. The rich sneered. It would have cost them their huge yachts and private jets. They got their newspapers and TV channels to sneer and cast insinuations on the scientists. Even today their stooges sneer and create insults about the "global warming hoax" and so on. As a certain book had it "There are none so blind as those who will not see." Not "cannot" but "will not". Too bad. Now there are figures in the US claiming that nuclear war is "winnable". The President of Russia says "We told them and we told them and we told.. but they refuse to listen!" Yes. They refuse. None so blind.

I didnt know the iron giant was in this movie. Kidding this is a great viddie. It goes to show you dont need a few million bucks in Cgi a top director stints explosions a big orchestra to make and tell a great story. The most minimal animation is all that's needed to tell the story. Great job I usually say you've got a minute to wow me but you wowed me in the first seconds and I liked what I saw. It's a shame we have to turn off our TVs and put off going to the movies and look up great viddies like this because the H factory cant do anything good any more while great unknown producers make here what they should be doing. I hope you make more shows. Thank you I'm gonna watch it again and again.......

It's a fact in the science of communication that if a speaker's pace is too fast, they will loose the interest of the audience. The same is true but worse if the speaker's pace is too slow. Worse because interest will be lost sooner. While trying not to nod off, I got the jist of the story and I'm behind it, we're killing ourselves and everything. The the graphics were beautiful, the music lent to the mood very well.. I REALLY like the quote from J. Krishnamurti.

"The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. ...We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. This is a logical result of the way in which our democratic society is organized. Vast numbers of human beings must cooperate in this manner if they are to live together as a smoothly functioning society. ...In almost every act of our daily lives, whether in the sphere of politics or business, in our social conduct or our ethical thinking, we are dominated by the relatively small number of persons(chabad lubowitches)...who understand the mental processes and social patterns of the masses. It is they who pull the wires which control the public mind." Edward L Bernays

A version of Welcome to the Machine brought me here. It's a good piece, but I think it misses completely the gnostic undertones of the original video. In gnostic terms, this representation of the Demiurge as a good guy goes against the indictment of It as the maker of suffering that is in Pink Floyd's song. Other than that, awesome work, in its own context.
