Having worked in the nightclub circuit as a regional touring musician, many of these "signs" applied, no matter what age the female(s) were. Of course, these were younger but it doesn't matter the age, IMHO. I could be on stage the first night at a new gig, notice the female(s) who made repeated eye contact (accompanied by a smile) and always ended up with my "selection" by the end of the night.

Older women have a perverse incentive to convince you that 'younger women" are a different 'animal' as it were. Because if they can get you to believe this, they can get you to prefer one species to the other. But they are the same, which means, young and old women like the same things in men - period. Just like your house cat is really the same as a tiger, except smaller, younger and older women are the same. The only difference is the amount of shame or subtly they have, the older the woman, the less she has. Which is why if an older lady is saying it to you, a younger lady is thinking it about you.

I experienced your first example. She locked eyes on me while I was talking to my guy friends 25' away in a nice bar. After several of these occurrences I went over to say hi and she completely snubbed me. I know how women think men in a bar are our for just one thing (a lot of them at least) so I thought she was playing hard to get. I tried again, but she kept giving me the cold shoulder. I went back to my friends, it was more pleasant. This was 10 years ago during my ripped-studly days and I still remember and think of it. Overall I think you do give good advice, when she touches you on the shoulder she definitely likes you.
