Denji is an absolute BEAN; he deserves to be happy, and i say that as a former CSM Hater, I used to avoid watching the anime or the manga because I thought it was overrated and generic af, I was so wrong, and if a hater like me learn to love these characters, anyone can, I miss Power so much.

I love Denji’s character in part 2. Ever since his debut in it I was fascinated by his change in character. I see it as him developing his own wants or desires after seeing what needs he was lacking in part 1 His debut literary showed him having his cake and eating it too. Him ignoring the cockroach devil’s moral dilemma and just saving the cat just shows how he ignores other perspective and embraces his own way. Furthermore Denji shows he’s self aware of how his life goes. His recent date with the girl at the theater shows it. He understands that it’s probably a trap and probably him being manipulated but he still goes through. Him being ready to fight the girl at end show he understands the whole song and dance of his love life. It’s sort of like Plato’s cave but instead of escaping the cave to have a moment of self reflection or actualization Denji just waits for more shadow to appear to get the goals he wants right now. It’s just neat seeing him grow up and fall into some pitfalls in his character. It gonna be a wild ride seeing Denji be humbled into a fine young man compared to Makima just building him up to be destroyed. The Denji hype train is real.

It’s crazy when I hear KZbinrs say Denji is just the same as he was in part 1 🤦🏾‍♂️ even though him in part 1 was amazing in part 1 I would say his desire was really wanting a family and wanting what he thinks what love is in part 2 I think he’s realizing how wanting a “normal life” isn’t wanting any thing at all and realizing that this questions his whole life and everything he thought

mineta is dumb, but hes funny and just a comic relief side character. He gets a pass. Denji, however, is a main character. Had Denji been a side character he would have been fine. But he's a main character.

You just gained a new subscriber. It always annoys me when people say Denji is the same, has no depth, or say he's JUST horny. Then I ask if they understand his character and they completely misunderstand it. Then say he is a bad protagonist. When it comes to part 2, I feel like people forget that he is still a kid who is beyond broken. They expect him to become a completely changed man when he is written like a human or a teenager. He is not going to do a complete 360 after just like maybe one year. Also, with the fact that he is currently at his lowest point with not being able to become chainsaw man. That was the only thing keeping him going at the end of part 1 when he lost the will to live. His identity, accomplishments, fame, love, affection, attention is all being taken away. The last 3 being things he never received in his childhood besides with pochita. Others will say that he never learns even though as you said he closed his mouth since his last two kisses were terrible and he was completely aware that Fumiko was maybe trying to lead him into a trap. Denji was ready to fight her the instant he saw her with a bat. Also, I love how people thought she was going to be evil and just manipulate/try to kill Denji, but then Fujimoto subverts expectations. Anyways, I've ranted long enough, and I loved your video.

Your videos on Chainsaw Man are absolutely important. You're one of the few KZbinrs that knows what truly lies behind Chainsaw Man. It's so satisfying knowing other people can love Denji. I love his personality and what Fujimoto does with it. I want him to grow, love and understand things. Part 2 is truly amazing. Can't wait for the new chapter today

This was not great at all. It was freaking fantastic! This video gave me a new perspective on Denji as character. I can honestly see why many people would not like him as a protagonist. He is very written differently from most common shounen characters. The world of Chainsaw Man is very complex, so I appreciate it when people take time to carefully analyze the many layers of its characters. I find Denji to be an interesting character. I find Denji character change from part 1 to 2 to be very interesting. The way I can summarize without going to deep is that Denji is growing out of his shell and becoming a person that wants more. In a way his ambitions have grown from just wanting a "simple life". His behavior shown in part speaks different volumes about how he wants to live. While many can say that he hasn't changed at all or just that he's a one-dimensional character, the changes are slow but also realistic. Denji at his core is a very broken person that's been delt a bad hand at every moment of his life. His life as a human was trash. His happiness as a devil hybrid in part 1 was nice for a short while until it was warped and taken away from him leaving him temporarily in an even more broken state. Part 2 we see more subtle changes in Denji's behavior, goals, and the methods he does to reach. Denji is still recovering from the trauma in part 1, dealing with the responsibility of raising the new control devil, as well as experiencing how to reinvent himself. Part 2 is essentially about Denji reinventing himself into his new world. And this video gave me more understanding on that. So, thank you for this.

Denji is an incredible complicated character Because he himself doesn’t understand what he truly want his already broken perspective was altered by makima into turning his wants of love and compassion to physical touch or “touching tits” through part 1 we see Denji chasing for sexual activities but doesn’t understand why until slowly through aki and power without him realising he got what he truly wanted. Love. But he didn’t realise it because of makima in part 2 we get an even more broken Denji who lost everything his world breaking once more. But now he can finally understand what he truly wanted and what he had and becoming more aware of himself and more mature we see him facing new challenges and dealing with such horrible trauma but never giving up. On life and on love how is he not a good character?

I love part 2 paradox like Denji wants to live a normal life and who makes this possible is pochita who makes him chainsawman a brute demon that kills So to live a normal life he needs chainsawman but beeing chainsawman make him dont have a normal life but he not beeing chainsaw man or to never had be chainsawman he could not be a normal person and that goes on and on

7:55 correct he’s always been an empathetic caring person of his own volition aki just brought that out of them a lot more because I reciprocated and in the way, his actions for the first time working rewarded nobody would continue to do something if it had a negative affect, it resulted in mostly a neutral effect for the Denji for the first time using actually being treated better because he was empathetic and good to people this translates to a positive feedback where by Denji is neutral and yet leans more so to being a good person to the best of his ability with his limited understanding

10:12 you might as well have said “ain’t nobody giving it to you bro be grateful”💀 I feel like at this point then she deserves something from someone else that man has been giving everything in based off of a line from the yakuza guy when he was six I’m not even sure if Denji is a SA victim or not it’s left up to be very ambiguous but having that of all experiences robbed of you before you enter your teenage years is atrocious, and I wouldn’t put it past Fujimoto to to reveal it later because he didn’t even review that Denji killed his father, until like around chapter 78 or so considering the language in themes, he wrote into fire punch of course then she doesn’t seem to have an adverse reaction to being touched or stripped but I wouldn’t be surprised for Fujimoto to change this because Denji has been known to suppress very negative memories

Fujimoto entire story has taught me one thing being a good person is just not worth it bro he’s suffering day in and day out all while try to make the best possible decision and the end has now set itself in motion for the conclusion with death devil importantly, coming in six months ending story before we ever get to see denji grow up and then we might get a little flash forward into the future where he’s like 21 or something but we’ll never know what he’s like in his 30s 40’s over the decades that he’ll probably live, will you ever heal Fujimoto has been reading the story for about five years now and has reportedly become exhausted so we already know he’s about to close the manga down I’m just not sure what is announcing it’s ending but what worries me more is nothing is ending the story it’s the considering how he wrote, fire punch, and how he’s written previous stories it’s likely that Asa is it going to get major character development in building over the next couple of chapters as we’re getting back, into viewing her life and at the end of the series I’m pretty sure reze he’s going to die and then one of the two Denji or Asa is gonna be the final sacrifice Fujimoto isn’t known for writing happy endings and unlikely story will be any different and he’s going to leave it open Ended for us to determine the ending on her own. I don’t even think Denji is going to ever even get laid he might get a sutto a relationship but he’s definitely Not getting the power, Reze, Asa, Yuro, Fumiko five girlfriend, harem him that he dreamed of although I would like to see him at least have a deep intament relationship with one of the first four (power my top pic😤) but I don’t even think he’s going to bring power back from hell like I’m pretty sure Fujimoto is going to give a lot of storyline points on concluded, and just let us marinade with the fact that characters die and that’s that but he already killed Aki he can kill the fan, favorite reze or power permanently and that’s it because honestly anything beyond that just seems like it’s too much I’d like some of the more important and impactful characters from part, one to remain, but like he did with the fire, but she’s probably gonna leave us with just 1 they’re going to likely fail to beat and let enjoy eat death because that fucks up the world more than likely best case scenario he eats a piece of her know the aforementioned characters die worst case scenario they all get wiped out except Asa
