Will / can the stones on a baguette watch stainless steel bezel setting fall out easily? Been looking for a video like this for 6 months… hesitant on buying a watch with invisible bezel setting.
@DougNapierJewelryMonk3 ай бұрын
Sorry, not really familiar with stainless steel watches.

Great info! Can you use a hammer hand piece with the Foredom SR or do you need the high torque/lower speed model?
@DougNapierJewelryMonk9 жыл бұрын
+tinker Sue yes, you can use the hammer handpiece on the SR model. it can even be used on the lower end motors like "Buffalo" brand. Doug

Doug, Great info. I too teach my beginning students to strike the top of the bezel with an old bur. I am curious if you taper the bur or just leave it flat.
@DougNapierJewelryMonk7 жыл бұрын
Brenda, I have a very slight dome to it, and rough it up with 400 sandpaper to keep it from wanting to slide off.

Thanks Doug! Question: do you first push the side then the top down or only the top down?
@DougNapierJewelryMonk7 жыл бұрын
Soulful Jewels push the sides in first, then the top down to tighten.

Hi Doug - Me AGAIN! I made a ring that required filing down two sides of the bezel in order to set a stone on a curve. After wearing it awhile, it got a little loose. Do the same principles that apply to a flat bottom also apply to a curve bottom setting? Thanks! >^..^< Cat
@DougNapierJewelryMonk7 жыл бұрын
Cat, yes the same principle applies.

Doug... Question,. Do I file down the tip of the point on that Dremel engraver?
@DougNapierJewelryMonk9 жыл бұрын
Valerie, the tip of the bit that comes with the engraver is pretty hard metal, I use either an old bur that I have ground down or you can take the bur that is in the engraver and turn it around. There is a little set screw at the base of the tool that you can loosen with a small screw driver and either replace the bit or turn it around. Hope this helps. Doug
