Bezzera Crema Espresso Machine

My BZ-10 which essentially is the Crema without the PID has been serving me loyally for the last 30 months, having brewed more than 5 thousand espressos, cappucinos , americanos and Mistos! Great choice , handmade A-Z in Milan Italy

Sounds like we both bought our machines at around the same time! I got mine at the start of 2019 when IDC had an open box sale. However, I usually only drink one or two a day so you have probably made more drinks than I have! ☕

I just purchased Bezzera Crema but version without volumetric dosing . I feel like I really don’t need it since I really enjoy playing around with various settings plus it can be potential point of failure. Great video .

This machine is very similar to the BZ10, it's the same grouphead and similar design. The main difference is the volumetric dosing.

question - how long for the machine to be switched on in the morning, and ready to pull a shot? Also - good idea to leave on throughout the course of a day (assuming you have coffee multiple times), or better to switch off after each use?

Doesn't look like the flushing is too too bad for a HX - especially something I'd expect by design to be a bit of a dragon.

Yes, it is possible to adjust the OPV but you have to open up the machine.

I thought heat exchanger meant there's a single boiler and you have to choose between brewing or steaming... Am I wrong? Or what's the trick here?

A heat exchanger allows you to steam and draw espresso at the same time. The way it works is that the water for the espresso passes through a heat exchanging tube inside the boiler and is heated on demand. Hi, no Bezzera uses their own group head, the BZ group. It is heated using two heating elements inside the group and it has a solenoid valve that controls the flow of water unlike an E61 that uses a thermosyphon system to heat the group and has mechanical valves.
