Got the same bad assed tyres they look cool, still got stuck in the sand though
@mountainadvantures59683 жыл бұрын
Good to know! We're mainly aiming for snowy places so hoping they work well for that. We'll steer clear of the sand if we ever head to the beach though!

Does the tyres make a a lot of difference on grass as my road tyres slip really easily on damp grass. I am considering these too but would like to know how if they are really worth the expense
@mountainadvantures59683 жыл бұрын
We haven't tried them on grass yet so can't help with that, sorry
@frodev7282 жыл бұрын
Yes they do. I have them fitted to my Mitsubishi Delica (4WD van) and also my partners Fiat Ducato camper. They do help in wet grass, mud etc but ultimately you may still get stuck - the threshold at which that happens will just be higher. We managed to test them last weekend (in the camper, front wheel drive) in 20cm of snow and compacted snow/ice on a fairly steep hill start and they performed amazingly.

Hey guys, I'm thinking of fitting similar tyres but want the black rhino alloys as well. I can't find what year your van is to compare to mine to see if these tyres will fit. I know you have a LWB VW Crafter, is it High Roof and what is its BHP. Great content, van coming along, keep up the great work. Cheers nic
@mountainadvantures59683 жыл бұрын
Hi nic, Those alloys would look great with the tyres :) Ours is an early 2017 model (old shape) with the high roof but not the super high roof. It's the lowest spec engine which I think is 108BHP. Hope that helps

@@mountainadvantures5968 Thanks guys, ours is a 2016 model, higher BHP but same shape, so those tyres should be good, depending on which alloys we get.

How did you adjust the tachometer? This is usually needed, if you change to a bigger size... Greetings from Germany!!!
@mountainadvantures59683 жыл бұрын
Hi Georg, We didn't change either the rev counter or the speedometer. The tyres have changed it by about 5% so we're just driving slightly slower now :)
@frodev7282 жыл бұрын
most speedos over-read the speed by around 3-7%, so often slightly bigger tyres will make that reading more accurate. It is important not to end up with the speedo under-reading the speed though.

Just been to get the same tyres and have been told the load rating is to low on these tyres and they will not pass a MOT they are only rated 113 and my sprinter has to be 116 and above
@mountainadvantures59683 жыл бұрын
The required load rating all depends on the exact vehicle you have. On the box under the driver's seat there should be a weight plate with your weight ratings on it. Ours is 3500kg maximum, 1650kg front axle and 2250kg rear axle. The 113 weight rating corresponds to 1150kg per tyre and so each axle could hold a maximum of 2300kg with these tyres, which is above either of our axle weight requirements. It might depend on the size and type of your sprinter (e.g LWB vs XLWB or 4x4 etc) or the gross vehicle weight. Hope you manage to find some suitable tyres soon!

@@mountainadvantures5968 thank you for you response. Really wanted these tyres and just be frightened off for now by my tyre fitters lol

Hi i have a mwb crafter with the same load rating and cannot find anyone that will fit these tyres, where did you find the load rating information for each axle
@mountainadvantures59683 жыл бұрын
Our load ratings are all on the seat box for the driver's seat. If not you could try looking in the manual.
