A very great guide. I actually recently started acting a bit more like this with my M4A1. I was never really a fan of auto-rifles, because they felt unwieldy to me. I'm more of a Pointman archtype: moving around the map quickly and smoothly, using dynamic cover to avoid spray, quick movement to avoid accurate fire, and skilled maneuvers to avoid enemy engagement entirely. I primarily use the MP412/1911/.44, and 870/MK3A1/USAS12 for backup, as well as my knife, grenades, and even the environment.

That's is some very good advice you gave. The best bit of advice you gave was if you find your self getting killed after a good run its because you trying to hard. Just chill out take a breath step back from the front line and let some of your team m8s push forward. It works for me every time.

Totally agree. Also remember that the heavy barrel negates the spread increase that foregrip gives the gun. Guns like the AEK, FAMAS, F2000 in the assault class benefits from the foregrip, just like the SG553 and SCAR-H. If you don't want to spread increase, slap on a heavy barrel, but if you're playing CQB, you might not need that.

Wow. Never thought I'd forget such basic yet essential guidelines. Thank you for reminding me. Totally forgot this is how I got so good at bfbc2.

Great examples that cover the guns with serious side-to-side recoil. On the other side--the guns that receive so little a penalty, or which are so accurate that they can bear the foregrip--are the L85a2 (seriously, compare the spread with and without), the AK74M, and the G3a3. Since these are so accurate, even with the foregrip, I find the foregrip is invaluable, as it allows for accurate hip fire in CQC--allowing you to fire first against weapons with higher rates of fire.

The foregrip is also pretty useful when firing from the hip. that's it's main pro to counter the aimed accuracy nerf. in really close quarters maps like metro, pairing a foregrip with a laser sight is pretty useful and quite efficient specially on pdw
@chinarep111 жыл бұрын
With the endgame patch, using a foregrip and heavy barrel together is more accurate than just the heavy barrel on EVERY automatic gun in the game if you shoot more than one bullet in a burst. There's a thread on symthic called "foregrip and heavy barrel best friends forever" that verifies this statistically.
@philosofrenzy12 жыл бұрын
I have to recommend that the "don't use the foregrip" advice be taken with one caveat: some guns have serious side-to-side recoil and, without the foregrip, are extremely difficult to keep on target. also, some guns receive so insignificant an accuracy penalty from the foregrip that it's worth it to keep the foregrip on. In short: it depends on the weapon. Also, with the new patch, you don't have to stop moving for as long (it's roughly half a second now) to get your full aimed bonus.

I listed a few in the follow-up comment. The L85a2 and G3a3 are both so accurate that they can be used very effectively, even at range, with a foregrip (so long as you have a heavy barrel on them). The G3a3 is another that can be used in this way. It depends on what you're after. Low fire-rate assault rifles often lose up close against high fire rate weapons, so hip-fire is necessary to get a slight edge--which is what the foregrip brings to the table.

I like to use the foregrip on the AEK...It looks badass with it, also I neither a bipod nor an underslung grenade launcher suit the AEK...It's a very deadly short to mid range gun. Something that you need the medikit with :) And as it's not meant for longer range engagements, I put the foregrip on to eliminate horizontal recoil. The accuracy penalty is practically not apparent ;) Oh, and I use iron sights as well as a laserpointer. Love its iron sights. :)

Agreed, but the Symthic stats seem to suggest that aiming is as accurate in any stance, which surprised me too. The only stance-related thing that affects aimed accuracy is moving, I think - some weapons (AS Val especially) lose a lot of aimed accuracy if you're not standing still.

Well done. I unfortunately do not have the natural "knack" of burst firing. I really believe the better players all burst fire.I'm an average talent player at best. But I've noticed that I can get multiplayer kills by not constantly reloading especially in CQ situations. It's a very valuable point in your video. Is there an ideal accuracy percentage for each kit or type of gun? The LMG accuracy for me tends to be lower than assault classes. It may be that I do not use the LMG's correctly.

Yeah and what about Recon? I'm a sniper in BF3. And by definition a sniper is a marksman who fires from a concealed position or from further distances than conventional soldiers. What I do is get myself into a great position, sometimes using aerial vehicles, usually 300 to 600 metres from target get a few kills then relocate to another position and repeat. Yesterday I went 20-5 on firestorm using this method with the M98B. But that's just me. Happy sniping people.

As far as I know, stance makes no difference to aimed accuracy, but it does affect the accuracy of your hipfire (obviously, standing being least accurate, prone the most accurate).

Use this resource to check attachments and their effects on whatever weapons you use, and also to compare stats between guns: symthic[DOT]com/bf3-weapon-comparison#17-17-00-03 (replace [dot] with a period) For example, plug the G53 into the "weapon 1" and "weapon 2" data fields, add the foregrip attachment to one and leave the other one blank. Hit "compare" and the website will break down the pros and cons of having a foregrip on the weapon. As far as I know they update it with each patch.

It takes 30seconds to learn the recoil mechanics of BF3, that is true... but: It takes a week to learn the spread mechanics of BF3 - few other games have such large amounts of spread coupled with practically zero recoil. Most games force you to miss (while ADS) by jerking your crosshair off target and hitting the corresponding spot - Not battlefield. Meanwhile, you can use symthic to help you a little, but i find that trying the weapons yourself help much more.
@BadAssNinja1211 жыл бұрын
I tend to find the KH2002 rifle for Assault class is great for accuracy as it's only burst fire and does a decent amount of damage, and will kill with about 2 bursts to the chest and legs, and only 1 burst for the arms and head. I hope this is useful info!

Luetin, I expect that you don't feel the benefit of the foregrip because of your preference for 'tap-firing' at range, rather than using 5 or 6 round bursts. With some of the weapons--the AEK stands out--it's simply impossible to keep a burst on target without the foregrip. In any case, every weapon is more accurate with the current FG + HB combo than they were with the ubiquitous pre-patch FG + Sup. setup. So fans of that setup pre-patch should do fine with the FG now--if paired with the HB.
