think this is clear evidence of how good the British military really is, that 2 Rifles, a normal (no disrespect) infantry regiment is able to seriously hold their own with Kenyan special forces. Kenyan special forces aren't amateurs either, they've had pretty extensive training by tier one SF units like the SAS/SBS. Even though the UK military is miserably underfunded, the training is still second to none.

Not really the correct weapons for a vehicle security detail, THE SA80 was clumsy enough let alone if you had a stoppage while debussing, that was half the problem with the British military, they favoured equipment suppliers regardless of any function issues or quality, and the release of funds was way too drawn out, I mean operations used UK special forces, but our force was limited due to a lack of night vision equipment,... pretty sad , I hope it got better since I tested the first version of the SA80 way back in 1985 that's showing how old that weapon is regardless of a HK revamp, best of luck guys

As they’re training in that environment and we see them spaced out reacting to enemy fire - I can’t help but think about the risk of bumping into dangerous wildlife and what control measures are in place to prevent that happening.
@BFBSCreative2 жыл бұрын
Hey 👋 Joe here. I did ask the OC about this as I was also curious. He told me the troops receive a mandatory briefing upon arrival in country detailing how to react to those exact situations. Teams are also sent out to clear areas before training takes place to minimise the risk of human/ wildlife conflict and a lot of time is spent picking up spent rounds or ‘brass’ at the end to minimise the footprint. Incidents do however still occur and there is definitely always a risk of walking up on a lion or other dangerous creature. Then I guess you just have to be faster than the slowest man 🏃♂️🦁

@tomstravels5202 жыл бұрын
Have you ever fired it yourself? Have you spoken to every single person in the armed forces? I reckon that 98% was based on just a couple of people. A bull pup in a vehicle actually still works better than a car one because you retain the longer range than a carbine. Imagine if it was an M16 and how much of a struggle that would be. The rifle is extremely reliable and even more accurate in its A3 version. It’s only main disadvantage is the weight. Left handed people adapt quickly
