New business plan; Fresh water from northern eastern states can be transported by railroad to drought stricken states. North eastern states can charge royalties when exporting fresh water and generate new source of income. Another option is by investing in huge 60 inches diameter pipeline projects to transport fresh water from this regions. Singapore already have this fresh water pipe line constructed and in service importing water from indonesia and malaysia.

It had to be the will of the ruling government at the state and the center to construct a railway line that could connect all areas in India with one another, this is required in today's day and age. IT has connected all far corners of the world, so having a rail connect is a necessity. The British built a railway line connecting Mettupalayam with Ooty in 1927, in southern India with available technology for that period in time, it is a mountainous region and the monsoon season is not kind to the area, but overcoming all that, there is a railway line. In short nothing is impossible, it just the interest and will of those elected.

The video explains in detail the difficulty faced in this terrain. The railways are trying for 40 years. So, you can ask what happened in the first 30 years, i.e. 30 years after independence. Modi's "Look East" policy will generate an "economic boom" in North Eastern states.

Sir great documentary. It’s great to see Indian Railway reaching to new horizons. BTW, what’s the current status and what’s the estimated completion time of this. Also, is railway planning line beyond Sairang?

@@GauravKumar-mm1of thank you so much. I have read that railway is planning to build tracks till southern end of mizoram in Zorinpui district? How feasible is that? Does Indian railways starts building additional tracks immediately or it observe the demand of the completed route? One more important thing, why railways is only building single lane in many states including Manipur, Nagaland etc. Because now railways usually builds double tracks in other parts of India. Given the climatic condition of northeast, wouldn't it be wise to build double tracks right away as you don't need do land acquisition and payment for it? In cases of emergency like derailment, the additional track would play vital role for supplies.
@GauravKumar-mm1of4 жыл бұрын
@@maulik20oct Building Railway tracks in North East is not a cakewalk. It has taken immense effort to connect just by single track. PM Modi has "look East" policy so under that many more things are going to happen in the North East. North East is to become gateway to ASEAN nations. So the future has lot in store for you. You will also get expressways.
@maulik20oct4 жыл бұрын
@@GauravKumar-mm1ofI know that it is not easy to build infrastructure in northeast given its topography, political situation and other factors but the road conditions are not very good in northeast either. In every monsoon, the highways and railway tracks in Assam gets affected due to floods and landslides thereby cutting access to entire northeast throughout monsoon time. Another example is so called 'national highway' connection Silchar in Assam to Imphal in Manipur is nothing but dirtroad even in other seasons thereby causing traffic blockage again and again. Often, many Naga and Kuki groups causes blockage on this highway effectively cutting off Manipur access. For all these reasons, it is very important to have various modes of transport. In other parts of India, government is already doubling the track or building double tracks on new lines. The reason I think double gauge is important because a disruption in main line by any means can be overcome easily. See, government has already done land acquisition and feasibility studies. So, they wouldn't have to do this again. But in future, if government would want to build second gauge, there will be additional costs and significant time waste. In addition, we always have to factor in political factor into all this. That's why I think it will be wise thing to do according to my point of view.
@GauravKumar-mm1of4 жыл бұрын
@@maulik20octWhat you have mentioned is what has happened so far. But now this area will get a boost that it has not got in the past. When the economy will be boosted more youth will get employment and the the unrest will be reduced. Khaali dimaag shaitaan kaa ghar. The new expressways are made with different technology and so they will not be dustbowls. I cannot give an expert opinion about double tracks but what I feel is that you will get double track also. Double track bhee mil jaayegaa, rovo mat. Overall the future for North East is going to be exciting. This will also mean tourist economy will reach sky heights. Because the waterfalls of Meghalaya are majestic. The eye pleasing tourist places of Mizoram and Manipur will become more famous and will attract thousands of tourists and thus the locals will get more business and their living standards will be raised..
