It's just that the Banish spell has a flag "Harmful", so it counts as an attack. There would have to be a particular script to go around that and trigger a specific reaction, which is not here, obviously

Now what happens if you enter the sanctum alone and Banish the snake from greater invisibility inside a cloud of darkness as an Archfey Warlock with Devil's Sight? While we're on the topic, how did you get to level 7? Did you just keep letting Gekh Coal continuously animate the dead to get more and more experience?
