Bhagavad Gita | Shree Krishna reveals Divine Knowledge of Soul to Arjun | Shloka 12 (English)

Bhagavad Gita Chapter 2 Verse 12: Shree Krishna starts imparting divine knowledge to Arjun, beginning with knowledge of the soul. He reveals one very unique characteristic of the soul in this verse. Watch beautiful explanation of the nature of the soul in the commentary section.
In the Vedic tradition, whenever divine knowledge is imparted, it usually begins with knowledge of the self. Shree Krishna follows the same approach in the Bhagavad Gita, by explaining that the entity that we call the “self” is really the soul, not the material body, and is eternal, just as God himself is eternal.

Swamiji I'm student studying in class 11 ... from childhood I'm more attracted to spirituality and I'm also reading shree mad bhagwad geeta,shree madbhagwatam,etc but one question is disturbing me is " why didn't jagadguru shankracharya even touched and read shreemadbhagwatam " if there will be a grace of lord shree Krishna than you will give these answer..

Dear Tirth, Jagadguru Shankaracharya, is called to be Avtar of Lord Shankar himself. It is written in the Vedas that he was told by lord Shri Krishna to go in the world and propagate against him i.e. The sakar form of god. The reason is that it was need of the time to propagate Hinduism and get rid of Buddhism, the reason is buddha is also avtar of god but he propagated a philosophy that is not complete, his aim was to remove the wrongs taking place in the society like animal sacrifices, etc. thus he ignored god aspect in his teachings to bring the brahmins on the right path. Now, without god, nobody is capable of getting rid of maya and god is the aim of the soul, so first to become a competitor Shankaracharyaji had to propogate advaitvad that the nirakar, formless aspect of god and thus ignored the sakar, the aspect of god having form and went against Shri krishna and his teachings and thus geeta. But the same Shankaracharya used to personally worship shri krishna but he used to hide it from others. Hope it helps. Also, ask questions to Swamiji or his pracharaks, join the whatsapp groups, attend online sessions of these prachareaks who will answer your questions and also u can attend the q and sessions of Swamiji

That begs the question how can there be 3 eternals? For something to be eternal, it has to be out of the time, space, energy & matter realm so time has no effect on it. But duality/differentiation only exists in the realm of time, space, energy & matter(Without time & space there are no two things). So differentiation can only exist from the perspective of creation not from the perspective of absolute.
