Desire,B, contemplate that happiness is in God. My own spin, make the mind realize that the happiness it pursues is truly in God and not in other worldly things. During a recent staycation I binge watched a Netflix series for hours. Towards the end of the day I started feeling sad for no reason at all. I ignored the feeling and went about my routines of the day, listening to Bhajan singing and cooking dinner. I was refreshed again and it is then that I realized what I put my poor soul through for hours. The turbulence that the characters in the series went thru was impacting me. Why would I do that? Because I mistakenly thought I was going to be happy watching TV. I now have an aversion to such series. The more you indulge your mind in Krishna, the less it will wander off. We have to pay attention to how we feel after we read about Krishna or listen to guruji”s lecture, sing Bhajan versus something else we spend out precious time on. That’s what I have started doing and I hope this mental journal will train my mind not to subject my soul to unwanted things. I’m not perfect but I hope this helps someone else

Swamiji says that attachment, contemplation on the objects of desire, and the desire to access material objects are the sources of all mental afflictions. When a desire is unfulfilled, it leads to anger. Anger ---> delusion ---> bewilderment of memory ---> ruin of the intellect ---> failure to discriminate ---> downfall of the soul.
